Introduction
We came so close... SO CLOSE to recording our second League win of the season, it wouldn't have been undeserved as the Addicks, like in their matches against Leicester and Watford, showed that we'll be strongest at the Valley this season - On the road however, well it might be a different beast. This coming Saturday, we'll certainly want to avoid a repeat of the performance shown at Loftus Road... Thank god we're not facing a side that have struggled to win, and have a "new" Manager to impress this weekend... that could have been a disaster if that was the case!!

The Opposition
Name: Sheffield United (24th) - Manager: Chris Wilder
Ground: Bramall Lane
Previous Result: Ipswich 5-0 Sheff Utd

Next up for the Addicks is a trip to the side currently propping up the rest of the Division, and given their ownership issues, its equally no surprise to see them on zero points either, but that is the stark reality for Sheffield Wednes- Ooops... Sorry I mean United... Who have had a terrible hangover from their Play-Off final defeat at the hands of Sunderland just a few months ago.

Chris Wilder was sacked shortly after that defeat, and was replaced by Rubén Sellés. A harsh decision at the time, given that Sheffield United had been denied automatic promotion by just a handful of points, and I mean, when you reach 90+ points in a League season, you kind of expect to avoid the joy of the Play-Off lottery. Well its easy to see that things haven't exactly gone to plan for Sheffield United, and Rubén Sellés, just one goal has been scored, and 12-goals have been conceded... a 5-0 defeat away at Ipswich Town last Friday was the catalyst, the owners had to react.

So they switched back to the man that almost handed the club a second promotion to the Premier League under his managerial eye. Meaning that our trip to Bramall Lane is going to be a touch harder than what it has been so far this season for other Championship sides... I mean for starters there are potentially going to be two Tyreece Campbell's on the pitch, how confusing is that likely to be!!

Charlton Team News
Well lets get the easy bit out of the way first. Having played two games for Jamaica, having flown around the world, and then returned to Charlton, being thrown straight into the first eleven for what was perhaps the biggest fixture at the Valley this season. Well its clear that Tyreece Campbell (I clearly mean the Charlton version, not the... You see how confusing this is going to be), is one of the first names on the team sheet, and will likely lead the line again tomorrow afternoon.

The less than simple bit is the fact that Kayne Ramsay will be absent, having earned himself two yellow cards in our last fixture, so will earn a rest from the trip to Yorkshire. That may well be beneficial in the long run, but now raises the question, as to whether James Bree, or Reece Burke replaces him in the line-up... Probably neither now I've said that!!

    I guess you then have to bring Apter on to run at them in the last half an hour or so. The RCB position then becomes troublesome though

    Sheffield United have been absolutely rubbish so far this season. 
    I have no doubts that Wilder will eventually sort things out and get them climbing the league but hopefully not until after tomorrow's game. 
    We are struggling for goals so far this season but if we can score 1st tomorrow I'm confident we can hang on for a win against a side short on confidence.

    I’d bring Leaburn in for Kelman. I think we’ve looked better with Leaburn on the pitch and helps to have a target to aim for in this kind of tricky away game

    We'll need to be spoilers tomorrow, for the first time this season I can see a trouncing on the cards, and weirdly it's against the team rooted to the bottom of the table

    One thing I’m sure Wilder has been working on this week is their defence ! They have been leaking goals and he will put a stop to that pretty quickly unfortunately. With our trouble being an inability to create and convert chances atm up against a team looking to shut up shop I just can’t see us scoring. Unfortunately I think they will so my forecast is a 2-0 defeat

    Aah, timing of Wilder’s return typical, but we have to deal with it.  I think this could potentially be a morale sapping defeat and if we’re not careful, something like 3-0 to them.

    The obvious returning manager bounce worries me, but they are also a good team with some very good players who obviously didn’t click under Selles.  I’m also worried about our lack of goals and creativity.  Hopefully we can either frustrate them and keep them out for an hour, and then who knows we get a bit of good fortune, or, we get something from a set piece or early goal and it gives us something to fight for.  I just can’t see this one panning out in our favour unfortunately, so I just ask that we show the fight and hard work of all the games so far, bar that opening 30 mins against QPR, where we were well off the pace 

    Stick with them, this one might be a bit painful

    Unless Bree and Burke have miraculously raised their fitness levels to FULL over the last week I think NJ’s hands are a bit tied here. Hamer will come back in, the Dutchman is recognised as one of the best left sided players in the division. If Burke and Bree were both FULLY fit I would have played that combo against Hamer first half and then bring on Apter in the second half for one of them. That would have made us defensively sounder against their best outlet.

    As I don’t think neither Bree or Burke are fully match fit yet, I think Bree more likely will do 60 mins at RCB and Burke will replace him in that position giving the RWB to a combination of Apter and TC. Apter is not frail defensively so may be ok but Hamer is another level to what has played against us so far down that side, so as I say would have preferred to start with a Bree and Burke combo.

    Up top, I would probably go with Leaburn and Tanto. Power, direct and I think Tanto is ok in the air, if long balls will be launched (if ha ha) it’s about time we turned to players with greater aerial capability.

    Wilders return smacks of desperation, think we a gelling a bit.

    A lot of the Sheff Utd team has changed this season and I don't see their performance levels and confidence returning overnight, so i'm still confident of a win. 2-1 CAFC

    I reckon both burke as rcb and bre as rwb will be brought in giving apter a rest, but we will see apter as a closer, hopefully running with the ball at more tired legs and nicking us the 0-1 victory we'll deserve....

    Rankin costello played right back for blackburn (as well as midfield) i believe 

    i just think we need to leftfield and random and take the risk for this game
