  • Creatively has slipped but Iyo v Stephanie was superb. Iyo is their wrestler of the year so far.

Looks like Brock is staying, i'm not as much of a legal expert as people on Twitter but i assume a corporation of TKO's side wouldn't be taking any risks.

The product is terrible at the moment. Imagine their ratings will take a tanking versus the return of the NFL. Can probably count on one hand the amount of wrestlers who are hot and truly over at the moment. Becky Lynch is doing great work on Raw. Rollins is booked very well, Dom Mysterio is a future world champion, but cannot think of anyone else is red hot.

Very much championing Hunter out. The Cena retirement tour has been terrible. Yesterday was terrible. 5 dates left for Cena now and no clear path to his retirement match. Tag division might as well be scrapped under Hunter control.

Not really anything to legitimate enjoy on the product. Got the silly crown jewel matches and then war games, before the build to the rumble. Definitely won’t be watching the vision v USO’s/Punk/LA knight in the main event for the next 3 months of raw.

So we’ve got Bret Hart”s Charlton vs HBK’s “The Blackburn Rovers” next week? I hope Earl Hebner isn’t the referee!

with regards to last night, Wrestlepalooza was really bad. Sky/Vaquer was the only good match. All Out was pretty fun, glad that Eddie Kingston has got over any injury problems he had, hopefully big Keith Lee will be back wrestling soon

Even ESPN was underwhelmed at WWE's first ESPN PPV 😂
  • Fair assessment by ESPN. Way too much time given to the mix tag which reduced the time for the main event.

Not as bad as their début on Channel 4 with Royal Rumble '00. 😃

Enjoyed All Out, I don't watch WWE so no idea how it compared to Wrestlepalooza but it was one of the better AEW ppvs this year.

That’s the one with Mae Young’s reveal wasn’t it…I do remember that absolute banger of a match between Cactus Jack and HHH though, brutal

That feud really made HHH a main event star.

Yeah, one of those things that only Vince would have found funny. Caused loads of complaints and soured the relationship from the off. Was a big deal for them and huge opportunity.

Foley is massively underrated. He had incredible matches and some of the best promos ever.

I remember watching that Royal rumble on VHS recording. As I didn't have Sky it was a rare treat as I used to rely on Sunday night heat shows to watch anything. And I'm pretty sure WCW was on Friday nights on Channel 5 for a while

It was, delayed by about a month whereas TNT had the week's Nitro and Thunder. They ended up sticking batman signs on the weapon shots, probably due to complaints so you can image how the Rumble street fight went down!

They used to edit chair shots on Channel 5 with Batman style Kap-pows! If I remember rightly.

Finishing school, Maccies in the evening with WCW, prime Crow Sting on my TV.

I'll always be grateful for my childhood, it was fantastic.

Always remember watching Sunday Night Heat it felt as well?

One of my uncles would record Smackdown and Raw on VHS and bring them over.

Also remember the 00 Rumble on recorded tape, Mum recorded it for me, must have watched it tens of times. Rumble 00 and 01 are definitely my most watched by a mile.

Not sure all the blame has to go Triple H’s way with regards to WWE.

His track record shows that when he’s given full control without much interference then he knows how to book really, really well.

But that company since TKO/Netflix came into the fold has just become so overly corporate that it’s starting to dictate the product too much.

    - Some random new PPV just springs up and it’s on ESPN. Quick, just put Cena vs Lesnar in there with hardly any build. Just get ratings!

    - We need to honour a sponsorship opportunity with Clash of Clans. Let’s make sure we somehow get the War Raiders into the title match at Wrestlemania just so they can dress up as them.

    - Get tables out wherever possible, because we have to help get ‘Slim Jim’ on TV at least once a week.

    - We have to try and improve our reach in Latin America so let’s shoehorn as many luchadore segments onto the show as possible.

    - Whenever we make a record amount of money at any given venue, let’s tell the crowd all about it to somehow make them think this is good for them even though we’ve rinsed them for about $300 per ticket.

    - Fuck about with Wrestlemania venues. Let’s go Vegas and then go back on our word about doing New Orleans and instead go Vegas again. And then Saudi. Because….money.

And then you’ve got what happened with The Rock. That was the one that really left a bitter taste with fans. To have one of the biggest angles in history be let down like that is unforgivable.

But again - these are variables that are probably outside of HHH’s remit imo. That period we had post-Vince but pre-TKO stranglehold really showed what it could be if done properly.

They fumbled the heel turn so fucking hard it's unreal, half his appearances for his last year was coming out and telling everyone how few dates he has left and how no-one will see him wrestle again.

Instead they could have had him a heel but have banger matches with faces, maybe run back the US open challenge but it's him gatekeeping the World Title and using people's moves against them to win, becoming more desperate each week and resorting to things like the Sister Abigail and Tombstone Piledriver to keep on top.

Well I thought it was a fun match. 😕

2026 is Styles last match. I first saw him live in 2002.
