Food quality at the Valley

I don’t like to have a moan especially after a great performance but I think the food behind the counters inside the Valley is appalling.

I had a sausage roll and it was dry as anything and quite frankly it was one of the worst ones I’ve had. A mate of mine had 1 bite of the Pizza and it was cooked underdone that he had to get his money back. He had a hot dog instead and it wasn’t any good neither.

I’m not sure if any of you have the same opinion of the food but if you do maybe I’ll contact the club to raise this issue?

  • The food is not only appalling, it's expensive, which is why there's always a long queue at the burger van and other eateries near the ground. It's a mickey-take.

Just go the pies! Exactly what you'd buy in any supermarket but warmed up and twice the price.

I dont know, my Langoustine Fettucini and Steak Tartare from the West Stand booth  closest to the right hand bog, were both magnificent and perfectly complimented by the Chateau Margeaux and Bovril. Perhaps you were just unlucky.

It doesn't even feel right to call it 'food'. It's not made to be enjoyed.

I gave up years ago buying food at football grounds. It is absolute shite, it is not food.
The hygiene standard I have witness (not just at CAFC) but across the board are little short of criminal.
  • Shame Exeter City can’t get promoted - the sausage rolls, pasties and pies in the ground were top notch.

    Devonshire food for you
  • I posted earlier today on the Fans' Bar thread re ensuring (? ) your issues with the catering at The Valley reach the ears of the Club.

Maybe the way to let those concerned  know that the yellow card shown to G & G after the Watford game has sadly failed to hit the spot ?

I very rarely buy food in football grounds but had a balti pie at Crawley last season and it was the business
  • haven’t bought food at a game for probably 15-20 years and certainly wouldn’t get anything at the Valley. Food looks disgusting and isn’t cheap either

I lived in Devon and Cornwall for a couple of years. Them pasties were something else. But screw the gulls in Looe!

well I suppose everyone has to get their rocks off somehow.
  • Took the family for the first time and went to the Fan Zone to buy lunch and make the most of the day.
The burgers, chicken nuggets, fries and bacon rolls were all overcooked and very expensive.
I put this on the post match survey.

Had the Food & Beverage email survey in my inbox today. I know surveys are not easy to compile but because of the * required questions included it didnt really allow me to get across that I'm currently someone that isn't going to buy food and drink at the Stadium,

In effect, I'm operating my own boycott of buying food and drink at the Stadium until I can see / read about a very big improvement in service, quality and cost.

Anecdotally, I hear that the service has improved a bit in recent matches (the survey concentrates on the Blackburn game) but I'm so scarred from past experiences that its going to take a huge, noticable improvement before I switch from spending my food & drink money at venues away from the ground to spending it inside the stadium.

Its a pity that the survey in its current form will not identify how many supporters are taking a similar position to me and if that is a potential revenue stream the Club is losing out on.

Is it me or has the food quality dropped considerably inside the ground lately? Been trying out the Chicken and Chips  and its quite often served luke warm at best, and sometimes they'll say it's a 20 minute wait for it! They've also gone back to the habit of only certain people being able to serve food and often tell you to go to someone else when you ask for something.

Oh how I miss Chicken George...

Don’t know if there’s a new catering co in the fan bar but on Tuesday Iwe had pulled pork and salt beef options. Both were good. Much improved on the frozen scampi option before

My pie was served to someone else and once retrieved, still frozen on the inside on Tuesday (North Lower). Saw another person return a pie for the same reason. The replacement one was lukewarm - edible, but really disappointing.

I had a glass of house red recently.
The delicate bouquet greeted my nostrils like an old friend……. I said a cautious hello to its hidden personality. 🙄

I’m in the North Lower too, seems to be a standard of service at the moment

Don't we have 2 fans we are meant to liaise with the club and sort out this sort of problem?

They had supposedly cracked the whip earlier in the season and things had improved.

Think they focused on the drinks, which is all good and well and it has improved things in that sense.. but food has just got worse.
