It is a lot cleaner/modern looking. Good job.

Was hoping there would be more reaction buttons to people's posts instead of just like and LOL

    I'm still moving things over.

Good chance we'll introduce new reactions, stay tuned. Personally, though, I'm not sure we'll introduce the ones people often want... negatives. But we'll see!

New layout looks good to me, though I expect it will take a little while to become 'normal' in my brain ;) One thing I did notice was that the list of 'My Drafts' lists each one under categories. It would be more helpful if the thread titles could be seen instead.  Thanks.

I've come across a couple of glitches. Do you want me to DM @LoOkOuT in case you're already working on them, or add them to the thread instead?

Changes mostly implemented. Only navigating discussions via the Categories page is fooked. Will have that fixed asap.

There will be further changes to the Discussion/Post pages (ie how comments look), but they will be implemented gradually, in time.

Everything else will evolve from here according to issues that crop up.

    Thanks for your patience!

Awesome effort so far thanks for your work.

    Constructive feedback/question:

I can't seem to see who has liked or loled one of my posts on mobile? The hover over when visiting on my computer works as before. In the past on my phone i would switch to desktop on my phone and would be able to see then who has engaged. But that doesn't work as an option now.

This is critical to know who's letter box not to shit in.

Hoping things are still being updated for the desktop version as it looks awful right now with the forum squashed into the middle of the page and enormous spaces to both the left and right of the body of the site.

Seems to happen with most sites these days as websites focus on how they look on mobiles and ignore that those viewing on desktops are using increasingly larger, and more specifically, wider screens that are underutilised by modern mobile focused websites.

Thanks for the efforts, regardless of my own view on the desktop version, as I know it takes a lot of work to keep/update a site over the years.

Looks great and easy to navigate on mobile.
  • Is there an option to hide or minimize the panel on the right hand side so it doesn't take up a third of my screen?

What does the “mute” button actually do ?

I think it looks cleaner and easier on the eye.  Only bit from me, on my mobile, i think the new posts notification on a thread could be more in your face.
  • Discovered I have 173 drafts and quite a few bookmarks including the Xmas film & TV watch as far back as 2016.

I like the new lay out within discussions but the yellow on the main page isn't the nicest to view on mobile imo.

On mobile there is no home button at bottom of thread. Only the Roland button ( I know it does the same thing, but it is bugging me all the same )

A much cleaner look on mobile and no blue (apart from the Roland Out button!!) - thanks so much for all the hard work.

One question / suggestion: will there be a more obvious notification visible on the main page to show if you have inbox messages? I rarely click on my profile so could end up missing these for days on end?

  • Maybe me but It does not show the end of a thread. Previously last page shown so useful to often go to Preciously

@Chris_from_Sidcup can you screenshot what you're seeing? I don't think it's much wider than when the menu was on the LHS. To my knowledge I don't think hiding it's currently an option.

I know it's the Platform (is that the right word?) and not CL that have made these changes, so this isn't a dig at our hardworking admin team, but.... It's change for change's sake; things are absolutley Jim Dandy, totally suitable for purpose, everyone using it is happy. But the nerds in Silicon Valley have to justify their existence, so there they go, fucking around with things, claiming they can no longer create support software for the current version, so the customer has to put up with their changes.

It's like the bank telling you that closing your local branch is going to "improve your banking experience"...
