Thanks to all involved for a great evening. Nice to meet some new lifers alongside those I already knew and put faces to user names, @Tom_Hovi and @JamesSeed. It was a very enjoyable evening with four very good speakers. Thanks again.

Thanks @LargeAddick good to see you too.

I thought it went well. Four very different topics and then a special remembrance service at the memorials behind the West Stand. Hearing the Last Post in the dark like that was something else.

Big thank you to the museum volunteers who put in so much work week in week out but especially in the run up to and on last night. It couldn't happen without them.

A great event last night and can only echo @Henry Irving in his comment that hearing the Last Post in the dark of a chilly November night was something very special indeed.

That was a really special evening, and many thanks to all concerned. All of the speakers were really informative, and I learned so much. I found the story of the destruction of the houses almost opposite the Royal Oak, and the hero who spent five hours pulling survivors from the rubble particularly moving. Heroism on our doorstep!
On a purely selfish note I was thrilled to hear the contemporaneous poem that name checked my great aunt Minnie, alongside some of the legends of WW1 women's football.
    Great to meet @LargeAddick too.
