on the way back on the train last night, me and Mrs Leary’s boots were trying to place that game in relation to other games in recent memory.
There were so many ! Orient away, Wembley, Wycombe away, Blackburn spring to mind. I am sure there were others. shef utd, Watford.
I can’t remember a time in recent years where we have had so much enjoyment watching the boys!!!!

I'm sure I read on here the football has been terrible to watch.

Personally, I'm loving seeing a hard working 18 who work their socks off for each other and the boss.
Long may it continue.10 -
Arsenal score the majority of their goals from set pieces so far this season.Henry Irving said:I'm sure I read on here the football has been terrible to watch.

They seem to be doing ok ATM.1 -
At Championship level you’d probably have to go back to the start of the Bob Peeters era was it 2014? When we remained unbeaten in The Championship until October?
Going further back you’d then have to probably look at the start of the 07/08 season which was going well until the sale of Andy Reid.
Then you’d have to look at any purple patch in the Prem years.1 -
The 11/12 season was a joy from the first game to the last. The 12/13 season was a real ride as well, tough start but we had that incredible Cardiff game on 6th November (SISS) and were unbeaten for 7 games including against Millwall at The Den after that. There was the ridiculous 4-3 against Watford on New Year's Day, the big 2-1 win away at Leicester and then we only lost 1 of our last 11 (guess who we lost to!) including beating Barnsley 6-0 away, seeing 2 last minute Obika winners and winning 4-1 on the final day3

We’re probably not that pretty to watch as a neutral but as a Charlton fan it’s brilliant.Henry Irving said:I'm sure I read on here the football has been terrible to watch.

2011-13, really likeable manager, likeable team, L1 Championship, top half finish in the Championship.
Was downhill after that, and this is better at the moment than 2019 as it feels like it might be more sustainable.

I think most of us that have watched us under Lenny and Curbs, this is all we want from our team.1 -
We keep getting told by other fans how terrible to watch Jones' football is but it is the most enjoyable I have witnessed since Powell's and maybe more enjoyable than Powell's in the Championship so far.1

Before last season I used to dread the away games and only look forward to the day out. Absolutely love watching us play away now. Winning games at place like Sheffield United and Ipswich and numbers/noise have increased massively in the last couple of years.
Also nice to be playing games at places suitable for it. 30,000 ground a 5 minute walk from the station is levels above what we've seen in the last few years. Long may it continue0 -
I agree, I think it’s because we all understand how NJ sets up and what he expects from each individuals role in the team, we now appreciate the work that goes into his tactics.MuttleyCAFC said:We keep getting told by other fans how terrible to watch Jones' football is but it is the most enjoyable I have witnessed since Powell's and maybe more enjoyable than Powell's in the Championship so far.0 -
From a technical viewpoint its not aesthetically pleasing I can count on one hand the number of creative players we have or any sort of flair or can produce any sort of skill with the ball. But this easily the most committed hardworking and positive team we've seen since Curbs and as long as you have a team that cares about the club almost as much as the fans you're never going to not be a fan of watching them play.MuttleyCAFC said:We keep getting told by other fans how terrible to watch Jones' football is but it is the most enjoyable I have witnessed since Powell's and maybe more enjoyable than Powell's in the Championship so far.2
