An age gap in a relationship eventually can get in the way of things. If you have a generation gap in the relationship once the partner hits 70, the other is still young. At the end of the day if it works for the couple then fantastic.0

I know a couple in this situation. He's 78 and in failing health and his husband is 45, still working and generally fit and active. It's made me more aware that a bigger age gap can lead to previously unforeseen complications as aging happens.ElfsborgAddick said:An age gap in a relationship eventually can get in the way of things. If you have a generation gap in the relationship once the partner hits 70, the other is still young. At the end of the day if it works for the couple then fantastic.2 -

I am not wanting to lower the tone of this thread, but would I be right in thinking that the gentleman of 78 has a few quid?

33 years difference says it can be a grandparent.

62 years between me and what I look like. We still talk but he complains I stopped looking at him.

64 to 39. Been together over seven years and couldn't be happier. I like to think that I've improved her life, and that of her family immeasurably, and she takes wonderful care of me, and got me through the toughest time of my life.
Luckily, I seem to have young genes, so we don't get any strange looks, still have regular nights out on the town, and even venture into the odd night club occasionally.
As she tells me, they are only numbers and people can die at any age anyway!
To top it all, she looks wonderful in her new Charlton away shirt that I've just had delivered to Australia.6 -
I am 2 years older than the wife, but her mental age is probably a few decades older than mine.8

The wife's best friend, who lives in LA, she's 48 and her husband is 68. You'd never know though.

I've always been a massive believer that age is more of a state of mind than anything else
However
With age gaps comes impracticalities, please don't think this is me telling anyone else how to live their life, thats the opposite of my business
One of my mates has a wife lots younger than him and she is definitely the voice of maturity in that relationship but physically he is showing his number now. Luckily for him his missus worships the ground he urinates on11 -

But we've been married for 36 years so it appears to be working.2 -
Whilst a lot is genetic/not unexpected, changes in health can sometimes can be unforeseen, a lot changes from 70 onwards. I know people for whom life has been a challenge from 70, even from 65 and others who at 80 are more active and healthy than many in their 60s and 70sse9addick said:
