Thats Brillant @chilhman, that your 70yrs ADDICKATION are being recognised by the club,

Is there anyone on CL or know of a fellow ADDICK who has been attending matches for longer than 70yrs?

& is there an ADDICK who has attended more consective matches, than Karens 800+ consective matches and counting?
Been attending 72 years. First match Sunderland in1953. They were called the bank of England team because they spent £300,000 on players during the summer! Never missed a season. Still go with my daughter and grandson. Sit in the upper west stand with the flask of coffee and blanket brigade.

My dad has been attending 72 years also and is still attending and sitting in the family stand with 3 generations.
  • This is all fantastic - puts my rather sporadic, moody off and on support for the last 60 years into its proper perspective. Well done and congrats on 70 years of faithful support.

I wonder if we have a ADDICK who saw Charlton lift the FA Cup who is still coming to watch Addicks at the Valley?

Is Karen on her own with 800+ consectutive matches....still a few seasons away from Seb's run

Karen's 800 consecutive is a great achievement- presuming she had some arrangement for attending during lockdown ?

Think the covid matches, surely fans are given a pass for missing? .....if their on a consective run.
    Amazing achievement by Karen...

is Karen ahead of all fans at present, obviously a few matches to go before she beat Sebs record.....

"A Charlton Athletic fan named Karen was recently congratulated by the club for attending 800 consecutive games. The club posted on social media to mark her "incredible milestone" and thank her for her "magnificent support".
While a well-known male "superfan" named Seb Lewis previously held a record of over 1,000 consecutive matches before his death in 2020, this specific achievement of 800 consecutive games belongs to Karen, who has been a dedicated supporter for many years. Other fans shared their congratulations on the club's social media posts, with some recalling attending matches with her and her family in the past."

  • Well done Chilham and TootingRedArmy. My first game was 15th Feb 1958 v Middlesboro. We won
6-2 was a great introduction to Charlton for me. Johnny Summers hat-trick plus a goal from Peter Firmani (the great Eddie's younger brother) and 2 others. Remember the late great Brian Clough scoring for them and Peter Taylor also playing in goal. They were good old times was in my 1st year at Midfield Secondary scool, St. Paul's Cray. We used to get a single decker red bus from St. Mary's Cray Station for the princely sum of 2/6 (half crown old money) return. Those were the days!

My dad is still going (season ticket holder). He's 83. His first game was in 1951. His claim is that he's never missed a Charlton home game when in the country. I know we missed a few family weddings when i was a kid and my mum had to attend the day time event with relatives and we'd arrive in the evening and we cut short a family holiday in France 2 days early to be at Simonsen's first game so i can believe it    :D
