Newcastle haven't gone behind in the League Cup in the last three seasons.

How many changes did Swansea make ?

Swansea City show six changes for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth-round clash with Manchester City, with Melker Widell among those to come into the starting line-up.

The Swede is joined by compatriot Zeidane Inoussa, Andy Fisher, Ishe Samuels-Smith, Kaelan Casey and Adam Idah.

They come in for Liam Cullen, Jisung Eom, Lawrence Vigouroux, Marko Stamenic, Ben Cabango and Zan Vipotnik respectively.

Those rested include their first choice keeper (Vigouroux), their CB & captain (Cabango), one of their midfielders (Stamenic) and three of their regular front four (Cullen, Eom, Vipotnik).

I know we're massive, but if I was those players, I'd have wanted to start tonight.

I bloody hope so, can't rely on Man Shitty or Liverpoo to beat them so maybe Up the Arse'n'all can beat them instead

Liverpool losing 2-0. This would be their sixth defeat in seven games if things stay as they are. Slot's honeymoon period is well and truly over.
His team selection tonight effectively meant writing off this competition.  A complete mish-mash of players, some playing out of position and a bunch of kids on the bench.

Ok i get you want to rest players and this is 4th on the priority list, but surely you at least put your main guys on the bench to come on. Palace/Arsenal/Chelsea/City/Newcastle etc are also playing in the PL and in Europe and they are all coping.

Unfortunately it means Palace are a step nearer to another trip to Wembley.
Sounds like he copied our Nathan's strategy from our game against Cambridge.
  • Quarter final draw:

    Arsenal v Palace
    Cardiff v Chelsea
    Man City v Brentford
    Newcastle v Fulham

The draw has very conveniently kept the big guns apart, which could/should lead to two big semi final ties.

Fucking hell. I know people would rather see a minnow win the trophies than the big guns, but there are limits.

With that semifinal line up, Palace would be favourites.
Why would that be a good thing?

It's just lucky they've drawn Arsenal away in the next round 🙏

I'd hope everyone on Charlton Life would prefer Arsenal to winning the cup than Palace (even John Boy 😉)

  • Been watching a bit of the first half between Arsenal and palace. It's almost as if palace are 2 divisions below arsenal. Pretty much spent most of the half just clearing crosses with all players behind the ball. Hanging on for penalties I guess.

A mixture of excellent goalkeeping from palarses keeper and poor finishing from the arse, somehow its 0-0 at half time🤷‍♂️
  • Urgggh,Palarse looking so much better this half, they look the more likely side atm🤦‍♂️
