  • In the context of the game, I’m happy we came out of with a point. Didn’t look particularly dangerous up front, but I must say I like that TC was going for more challenges until he was put into left back.
Hopefully Bell isn’t too seriously injured, we felt it when he came off.
Fingers crossed this isn’t a pattern and we pick ourselves back up for West Brom.

A point gained. If Swansea had a decent striker, the game could of easily gone away from us. Particularly, the break before end of first half when Burke was injured and the Swansea 7 yard miss in injury time.
Injuries to Burke and Bell didn't help, but they have may have been carrying knocks as they were not great before the injuries.
Swansea passing was generally more fluid, and Gailbraith looked good in Swansea central midfield.
Pleased to see Charlie Kelman get his first Charlton goal. A very Matty Godden type goal.
After Swansea goal, Charlton held on a bit, but showed good spirit. Hernandez, made a good contribution when he came on. The way the game went, pleased with the point.

Wonder if simply facing Alan Sheehan didn't help

Ex-Coach of Nathan Jones, who knew exactly what to expect from the way his sides setup and play.

Could be worse, could remember you’re from Swansea at full time
  • Just felt a bit lacklustre today, not sure why, but both the commentators kept on remarking about it!. We seem to have to play a high energy game, or at least for part of it.
Ramsey was not himself, and even Jones seem to have just an okay game.
Hope we start with more energy next match. Delighted  for Kellman, hopefully that should boost his confidence. Yes, a point gained and not two lost, is the way I am looking at it.

We weren't quite at the races today and that was before the injuries. Sloppy at times so i'm pleased with another point on the board. So glad Kelman is off the mark.

Just hoping the injuries aren't too serious. Having both left sided defenders out for an extended period will be a major test.

As for today’s game, the injuries scuppered us as did NJ’s habit of only having one defender on the bench. TC was dangerous first half but wasted at LWB. Our midfield were outplayed and Ramsay had an off day. Ultimately we did well to escape with a point
Jones habit of only having one defender on the bench didn't 'scupper us'

Didn't really deserve it but who cares, take the point and move on. Losing Bell then Burke affected us and we don't really have a natural replacement at LB, certainly isn't TC or Ramsay on today's showing. We were not really at the races but we battled away and got a point. Thought CC and Lloydy were the stand outs.

Positives - CK off the mark with a good finish (hopefully the monkey off his back) and Kaminski showing why we brought him in with a couple of smart saves.

Roll on Tuesday but we need a solution to the LWB conundrum? Is it Bree with Apter at RWB? Or Tankin-Costello? Maybe even Fullah?

Not our finest performance but importantly Kelman off the mark now.

Think we will probably look tired the next two games. Nice rest over the international break needed

It left us playing odd formations with players out of position. Our most threatening attacker in the first half ended up playing LWB and was barely seen again. Kayne Ramsay ended up playing LB. I’ll give you that he didn’t have any other senior defenders to put on the bench, but that’s his decision too

    Crap game of football tbh.
Now soaking wet making my way home.
But every point in this division is a good point,  so I ain't going to complain.
West Brom on Tuesday will be equally tough and then on to Wrexham where I shall be going.

The championship is a very tough division and we will have plenty ups and downs this season but I'm certain we shall be OK.

Tries hard enough but we were second to a lot of balls. Nice for Kelman to finally score. Swansea were a fair bit better than us, so it's a point gained.

A bit sloppy in general today, really pleased for Kelman, the injuries really unbalanced us mainly missing Bell, Galbraith was ok and I think people are over egging it because we were linked to him, the player of theirs that gave us the most trouble was the number 10, by far there best player. A point from that is ok as wasn’t our best day. 3pts Tuesday makes it a good point.

Thought Galbraith controlled the midfield we couldnt get near him - shame we couldnt get him in summer.
This . Best player I’ve seen at The Valley by a long way .
  • Thought Swansea were very good, but we were miles off it today - but a point nearer safety.

I'm pretty sure he's missed easier chances than that this season. We were slightly fortunate with the ball going over the defender's head I think, but that's a difficult angle to score from. Hopefully it'll be the start of a scoring streak for him.

What scuppered us was getting bell injured on top of loosing Edward’s,and then Burke, not the subs bench.

Lucky to get the point after they missed a sitter late on. Thought they bossed the midfield and controlled the game for long periods.

Our game plan was scuppered by the 2 injuries so no point dwelling on it, but it weren't a great performance.

We start with 5 defenders with one on the bench, it’s not often you lose two defenders to injury, I’m slightly more concerned Burke wasn’t having a great game and Ramsay still isn’t back to his best, but that’s another conversation.

Best team we’ve played so far this season. To come away with a point, especially as we weren’t particularly at the races today, is a brilliant result all things considering.

The Championship is so unpredictable this season. Seems anyone can beat anyone else. Derby are in 17th but just three points behind us. It's wide open this season. Practically anyone could finish in the top six (except the current bottom four maybe).

Mmm.  Want to be pleased with a point there really.  We really didn't seem to have our usual urgency, Swansea passing around us constantly.  Our usual pressing seemed non-existant.  A good time for Charlie to get his first goal, otherwise we'd be looking at a pretty sore defeat.

I think from their perspective, they can probably feel like they should have taken all three points away.

If we can scrap out a point when playing crap, I guess that's a good thing.  It's going to be a very tough next few games though...

We knew this season would be tough, and today showed it. The injuries just before the break didn't help but we looked jaded before that as well.
Great finish by Krlman yo put us ahead and I hoped we'd push on from there but in reality, I thought Swansea had the better of the second half and the equaliser was deserved.
It nearly turned into a defeat in I jury time, but overall its a good point.  A lot of our passing felt wayward, and decision making wasn't the best either.
We have a tough game (again) Tuesday,  and we need an energy injection. Motm Coventry.

Burke seemed to me to be struggling from the off, well off the pace, and was touching his leg for a good ten or so minutes before he finally went down. I'm not convinced by him at all to be honest.
