Id be happy not to rush him back, january will do!
Agree. As good as it would be to have him back, we’re not struggling and no need to rush it.
    Not struggling......😂😂😂😂😂

2 goals from our "strikers" would beg to differ.
Was gonna have a go at you, but will leave it to the others.

    *opens google*

    *googles championship table*

    *sees we’re 6th after 12 games*

*wonders what adjective to describe the 18 teams below us*

Save him for the promotion run in - to be honest, its gonna take him a good few months to get back to where he was at the end of last season and i think he needs to be that fit / sharp to do what he did - the difference in him when he came into the team second half of the season compared to the early part was amazing - just hope he can get back to that level

Agree save him what frustrates is that others are slagging him for not doing well at Coventry  and yet we sign a striker who has been let’s face it fucking shite in front of goal

Godden has a lot more credit in the bank than CK for me but let’s not ruin an agenda eh 😂

On the bench after the international break I think. Then into the eleven at some point in December

So you’d take out the player that has created the most chances from open play this season, in order for us to create chances for Godden? Makes sense

I wonder why Coventry let him go, especially with the fans loving him so much

Maybe they thought they could do better.
Getting to the playoffs last season and pi**ing the league so far this season, you might say they were justified.
We know differently and a fit Godden for the next 6 months could prove invaluable if we stay near the playoff positions.

Godden bagged 18 playing next to TC Small and having Berry in behind. Yes we’ve gone up a division but we’ve also upgraded Small and Berry to Bree and Carey. Godden is literally the best forward we have in terms of finishing and positioning, we rank 7th for shots on target 8th for big chances so it’s not like we’ve had nothing to work with. Godden would have had a couple already this season just knowing where to be and when.

Soon as he’s fit and ready to go, he’s second name on the team sheet afterJones.

Have a look at the picture of Matt Godden on the OS, no wonder he is taking so long to get fit 😀

My Coventry mate says it was because in his last season he was always injured. Plus they realise they would have had a far better chance of being promoted last season if they still had him.

We need him badly and also Berry as a starter.  We lack creativity

I get Godden for Kelman, but who would you drop Berry for, without weakening us defensively? He works hard, but I wouldn’t want him in Coventry or Docherty’s role, and Carey has to play.

He only signed a 2 year contract,  is he nearly a year and a half through that ? , if his injury drags on would it be renewed ?

Doubt his contract will get renewed anyway unless he bags 20+ goals. He’s going to be 35 next season and is on a big contract. We also have a silly number of options in Tanto, Leaburn, Kelman, TC, Mbick, Kanu and Ahadme next year with no guarantee u can shift someone like Ahadme permanently. Would be nice to have an experienced head in the changing room but can only see it happening if he’s willing to drop down his wages significantly

I think the last 3 would be the reason we hope Matty can go on for another year. None of them are close championship ready and don’t really see them improving enough next year. Don’t have a crystal ball though so might be wrong.

would love to see matty given a player/coach role! Still life in the ol' Dog yet - but a coaching role would keep him around longer!

come on. Whether you can shift him or not , ahadme will never be considered as “an option”. I think it’s very unlikely he will ever make a 18 for a competitive first team match ever again.
