I was there, though recollections are vague. Went to 40 games that season. Not too bad as I was living in Basildon at the time.0

Writing without checking but I thought Killer was transfered to Derby first week of December. Remember reading Sunday paper on tube coming back from a party in North London. 5th highest transfer ( British)at the time.SporadicAddick said:Last game before Hales was sold?
forgot Ted Macdougall also played for Southampton as well as Bournmouth.0 -
Yep .. He played his last game for Charlton first time around 4 Dec 76.
Funny how certain football facts bring back a story. Really was pissed off with his transfer.
Glad we resigned him back .0 -
I felt like crying, mind you decades later had the same feelings when we gave Yann awayLewis Coaches said:Yep .. He played his last game for Charlton first time around 4 Dec 76.

A bit off topic.
I went to Hales first two games for Derby following his move, firstly a midweek 0-0 bore draw at the baseball ground v Arsenal then away at Old Trafford.
Funny thing happened at the Man Utd game, my dads new boss (we had just moved oop north) was driving us to Old Trafford and for some inexplicable reason (possibly because it was bloody freezing), I had my Charlton scarf on under my coat, red and white which was ok but with Charlton written on it which again was ok because it was under my coat.
Anyway, we were nice and early and as we got near the ground, a coach pulled up by the side of our car. I looked up and saw little lamps on tables then realised it was the Derby team coach and I was face to face with Killer. I grabbed my scarf and held it up emblazoned with Charlton.
His face was an absolute picture, Christ knows what went through his mind when he saw me, barely a week after his move, playing for Derby away at Man Utd and there is some Charlton loon waving at him!
