Someone should tell our media team as it's still showing as the 21st.Sage said:

Saturday 3pm to the next Saturday at 12:30 is within 7 x 24 hours periods, yes, but it’s eight days, so I think the pedantry is with you to insist that it’s one week.
If we count Saturday - midweek- Saturday as 3 games in a week then it gets absurd because one game can then be counted as being a part of either week to suit your argument.
So with midweek games all month, you get this:
1st -8th = 3 games
8-15th = 3 games
15th- 22nd= 3 games
22nd-29th = 3 games
How many have been played? 12? No, it’s only 9.

Not true. People used to say ’over an eight day period’. Maybe I remember further back to pre- social media bollox.stoneroses19 said:
It's not a CL thing though, is it? For as long as I can remember managers, players, and fans, have talked about Saturday to Saturday being a week of football. For example, win Sat-Tues-Sat and you've picked up 9 points this week.jimmymelrose said:A true 3 game week:
Friday, December 26th: Norwich City (a) - KO 3pm GMTMonday, December 29th: Portsmouth (a) - KO 7.45pm GMTThursday, January 1st: Coventry City (h) - KO 3pm GMT
Because a week does in fact consist of 7, not 8 days as everyone on CL seems to think nowadays.0 -
Or maybe instead of things being “bollox” the world changes and evolves, including languagejimmymelrose said:

I also remember before then, and football people still used a football week as Saturday to Saturday. No idea why you're blaming social media.jimmymelrose said:

Pardon my ignorance, but if a match is on Sky Sports+, might it be shown in a pub?0

No reason it can’t bedanny777 said:Pardon my ignorance, but if a match is on Sky Sports+, might it be shown in a pub?1 -
They have changed it from Tuesday the 21st to Wednesday the 21st, presumably following my e-mail to them pointing it out - which they have not replied to, BTW...bolloxbolder said:

You know you’re on Charlton life when there’s an argument as to what constitutes a week.19

Anyone know when the next lot of games will be announced?1

- Selections for matches scheduled after the first weekend in March will be announced on a four-week rolling basis starting from February 1 (e.g. a selection for the first weekend in April will be selected in the first weekend in March).

A few ifs but should us and Pompey both lose at the weekend and Stoke win then there's the likelihood that we'll play Pompey on the 14th Feb.... But will it still be on TV as selected?
I can't find an answer so anyone got a clue?1 -
I very very much doubt it. Just because it was televised before doesn't mean that it will/should be televised when it is finally replayed.peterreeves said:A few ifs but should us and Pompey both lose at the weekend and Stoke win then there's the likelihood that we'll play Pompey on the 14th Feb.... I am 90% sure that when a game is televised, it stays televised if moved which means they will have to avoid the blackout1

Anyone have any idea when they will announce the next load of annoying 1230 kick offs? I thought it was yesterday they were gonna announce it.1

That is so shit announcing them one week at a time. I bet they change the Oxford game to 12.301
-
Everyone loves 3pm kick offs bit sad that all these get moved to 12.30 constantly hopefully they review the 3pm blackout and we can get back to more 3pm games one day2
-
The odd 12.30 game is fine, but we have way too many and it just takes the fun out of going.0
-
Ooh, Salford again. It is difficult to imagine there is not some degree of corruption going on there.1
-
I really hated them at the start of the season but now I've really come round to them and actually quite like them - less hanging around beforehand and plenty of time after to celebrate/drown sorrows afterNicholas said:The odd 12.30 game is fine, but we have way too many and it just takes the fun out of going.2
