Food quality at the Valley

    It's not hard to heat up a pie. I don't understand how they can fail in that task. Also, I'm sure they temperature probe food, because I see them doing it with the burgers.

    I walked down to the end of the fans bar a few weeks ago and had a peek into the kitchen. I couldn't believe how big it is - it's massive. What do they use it for? I can't see any real cooking going on at The Valley. But I'm sure in a space that big, you could easily churn out good food for the terraces.

    Don't we have 2 fans we are meant to liaise with the club and sort out this sort of problem?

    They had supposedly cracked the whip earlier in the season and things had improved. 
    Not a club problem so they will say. Ask Gather and Gather, though when they full of it on the pitch on their meeting saying enough was enough. As i have said many times if you can eat before you arrive or use the local burger vans in Harvey Gardens

    100% in agreement.
    I used the Valley Cafe or the burger guy opposite the club shop for years. I knew the food and service was awful, before paying and tasting the stuff inside the ground.
    Wtf we cannot give bottled lager, even if may be s***, fans will suffer it to get a quick beer in.  If we did this and not served any food I am sure we'd make bundles more than we do already.

    Food quality in the kiosks in the ground poor, made worse when it comes luke warm.

    Luke warm food can cause more than just a gut ache. What’s their hygiene rating?

    First time I got food in the ground this season. Asked for a sausage roll, got back to my seat opened up the packaging it was a hotdog.

    I am baffled how the Curbside food hatch can serve up a burger so desperately overcooked it is ash dry but is barely warm to the touch, even the bread roll in which it was served was dried out to be almost inedible - That dry unadorned circle of 'meat' in a 20p bread roll is charged out at £7.50!
    By comparison the meagre portion of chips at £3.50 seemed OK, they were at least hot, crisp and salty.  The 'experience' was capped off by it taking fully 4 minutes to complete the transaction despite the operative having nothing more to do than pick up the 2 items from behind him and place them on the counter, while saying nothing at all.
    That's it for me and Valley catering for the season, it'll be Valley Cafe or nothing at all from now on.

    Clearly my view is against the grain, but I think the food is OK for a football stadium. I often have the chicken and chips and it's... well... decent under the circumstances. I'm still happy that they've made a lot of progress reducing serving times. It's not perfect, but a massive improvement on last season (which is all the more impressive given the increased attendances).

    I can’t remember the last time I ate food at football. It’s the last thing on my mind. But those of you that do what do you expect it’s a ground not a restaurant. I suggest you get on the wallop and forget about eating altogether.

    Maybe we should lead the way with our Jamaica connections. Levi Roots (Reggae Reggae sauce)is I think still south London based. Jerk chicken etc would be better than the usual fare.

    I wonder how many people go to a restaurant and complain about the quality of the football on offer.

    While I see people's points, having more 12:30 KO's does make food more important to the overall matchday experience. Especially when (with apologies to the Valley Cafe), the local area isn't flooded with options

  • Chippy in the Village,2.75 for a very large cone of excellent real potatoe chips,would never pay the prices for any food or drink in the ground.

    Years ago I had some wedges from there, they were fantastic as well.
    Have never had a bad portion of chips from there.

    Sainsburys now have hot sausage rolls, pasties etc.

    Popeyes
