I wasn't across the "Main Millwall" thread.....but fanning the flames? I don't think so....Millwall fans have been doing that since the dawn of time! At least @MillwallFan comes across as a bit reasonable but why is he on Charlton Life? trying to defend the indefencable is a lost cause. Lets put this lot into historical context, its generational, plain and simple they are simply deeply unpleasant people and will they change I very much doubt it. I think first thing Millwall fans teach their baby to say " Is no one likes us we don't care" enough said !stoneroses19 said:
To be fair to @MillwallFan, they were on the main Millwall thread soon after admitting they were wrong and condemning what happened at The Valley. Not sure what you're trying to achieve by fanning the flames with your post.TootingRedArmy said:Ah yes, collective denial the Millwall way of life. For decades they’ve treated hooliganism like Bigfoot: “lots of sightings, no proof, mate.” Admitting guilt would shatter the sacred illusion of “proper passion,” so instead we get deflection, denial, and a dash of “media witch-hunt.” It’s practically an art form from these sad Bushwackers from New Cross.
Funny how @Millwallfan now pops up weeks after their lot attacked Charlton fans onto this thread, where he been? struggling to defend the indefensable. When some of these sad cases involved some even in their fifties & even sixties closer to collecting their pension storm Gate 21 like it’s 1983, you really have to ask what is wrong with them? @Millwallfan coming back on this thread now, where were you MIA...??

"In the 1920s Millwall's ground was closed for two weeks after a Newport County goalkeeper, who had been struck by missiles, jumped into the crowd to confront some of the home supporters and was knocked unconscious.[10] The ground was again closed for two weeks in 1934 following crowd disturbances after the visit of Bradford (Park Avenue). Pitch invasions resulted in another closure in 1947 and in 1950 the club was fined after a referee and linesman were ambushed outside the ground"

Early kick offs are always a bit flat at ours to be totally honest. Even when we played palace in the cup a few years back, it was an early kick off and a bit meh. Had it with Leeds as well when we played them in an early kick off, was very flat. Two games that would usually provide a very lively atmosphere. I put it down to the lack of drinking time prior to kick off.DOUCHER said:
Just a civil question - is there a singing ban at the den these days ? i watched the first half of your game yesterday and didn't here one song. A few early attempts at the merrr thing which isn't a song and doesn't require any singing or effort at least - just a dull mentally challenged drone, but once that failed, nothing. Just curious - are the fans not happy / behind the team or is it always like that when playing a team also in the play off spots? You were the quietest set of fans to visit the valley as well and don't think i heard a song then either - i know drums and adults wearing kit tops isn't allowed or any new song invented after 1985 but is singing a complete no no at millwall now?MillwallFan said:

Charlton in the play off final?!! 😉🤣Afternoon games are a bit hit and miss, sometimes the atmosphere is excellent, sometimes it’s just ok, sometimes it’s a bit shit. Like most clubs probably… including Charlton. As I’ve read a few comments on here about your atmosphere being a bit flat in recent games. That’s from your own fans. I heard it wasn’t all that v hull? It happens. Funny how you notice things in us but miss it in Charlton Douche. Like you’ve commented on our floating support in the past. Fans who only turn up for big games. When Charlton also have a big floating support. Very blinkered Douchy mate.Anyway, can feel another sabbatical coming up. This Tooting fella is a bit jumped up and excitable and it’s getting tedious. Please refrain from tagging me again Tooting. Cheers. 👍5 -
Thanks mate. And yes, I totally condemned those who came through the gate and said I’d got it wrong that I thought there wouldn’t be any trouble. Don’t know what else I can say really.stoneroses19 said:

Anyway, roll on January. Looking forward to it already. Love being in the same league as our closest geographical rivals. Yes it was fun to take the piss when you were in the league below us (like you have with us in the past) but you can’t beat playing your local rivals.Take care 👍11 -

I don’t mind being tagged. Not at all. The vast majority of posters on here are decent people. I just don’t want to be tagged by him in particular, because to be brutally honest, he comes across as a bit of a twat. I don’t care for his opinion, so don’t need him drawing my attention to it. 😁ElfsborgAddick said:MillwallFan said:

There's flat and there's like a morgue - every time i've seen any of your games this season, i've not heard any singing - first half against hull was a bit below our norm but i'd still say way above anything i've seen when watching u - admittedly only about 3 half games at the den and one was a night match when you probably had about 8000 there tops. Anyway, yes, you've turned a bit shit again so doubt we will hear from you for a while - laters anyway - should i call you milly or fanny from now on? you seemed to like adding a y but i didn't return the favour and now its just douche which seems less friendly / silly - do hope i haven't upset you again?MillwallFan said:

TOOTINGREDARMY: Must be really tough for you, @MillwallFan trying to dodge your club’s colourful past. I mean, imagine supporting a team that managed to get itself banned five times before the 1960s. That’s some commitment to chaos. Millwall were hooligans before most clubs had even worked out what hooliganism was.Watching Millwall fans try to defend the indefensible is like listening to someone who drinks a bottle a day insist they’re not an alcoholic, admirable levels of denial, if nothing else.
I could reel off the “greatest hits” myself , which i've seen....1977, Spurs at home Millwall turning up and getting caught on Panorama for all to see. Or that little episode at London Bridge, Millwall fans swinging weapons like extras in a bad Danny Dyer football yob doc. Then there’s the Elephant and Castle brawl back in the 80s, pure carnage. I lived in New Cross for my sins and saw it all first-hand, week after week. So spare me the revisionism. And if being tagged upsets you @MillwallFanmaybe don’t wander onto a Charlton fan site trying to play the innocent? Because when the going gets tough, you lot always seem to leg it ...btw classic @MillwallFan turning off your email notifications and being rude!
And yes, I did see Millwall fans attacking innocent Charlton supporters after the recent match. So if you don’t like hearing the truth, here’s a thought @MillwallFandon’t show up on a Charlton forum pretending you’re misunderstood. Don't worry were listening "No One Likes Us We don't care" ...and yes we really don't care !

Cheers. 👍Mr Spanner, surely it is not the first time you have been tagged?
@TootingRedArmy must be in line for apromote here. I do detect our Millwall mate has got a bit worked up, and that is a first.
anyway, I’ve turned off the email notifications now so it’s by the by 😉
TOOTINGREDARMY: Must be really tough for you, @MillwallFan trying to dodge your club’s colourful past.

I’ve just got an email from Len’s assistant, who says that he is raising the issue tomorrow during the London Assembly plenary and she has promised to send me the link to the recording of the meeting which I will post up here so that we can all see what he says. She says that he is looking to open up a direct conversation with the police, and had previously said that it is unlikely to be a single conversation…11

I just don’t want to be tagged by him in particular, because to be brutally honest, he comes across as a bit of a twat. I don’t care for his opinion, so don’t need him drawing my attention to it. 😁ElfsborgAddick said:MillwallFan said:

Extraordinary! A Charlton fan riding to the defence of Millwall, now there’s something you don’t see every day! My comment was a bit of light-hearted teasing aimed at @Millwallfans creative view of his Bermondsey brethren, but it seems it touched a nerve. Well balanced? really he resorted to type being rude, you can't take the "Millwall" out of well a Millwall fan!
Still, it’s curious he spends so much time on here rather than among his own. I doubt a Charlton fan would get quite such a warm welcome on a Millwall forum! Anyway, that’s all a sideshow to the more serious matter at hand: making sure we keep the pressure on regarding the Met’s approach to policing Millwall games at The Valley.

Just had a peak at that millwall site - the one with about 6 contributors - i've finally made it! - moody has created a profile of me on the charlton life thread - a dossier - a psychological profile - a genius at work there - its amusing but i do wonder whether social services should be contacted about this bloke in particular - he's deluded himself that i've been born with a silver spoon in my mouth and he's apparently a salt of the earth, purley king and queen builder type or something but infinitely more intelligent - right, but if he were that clever, would he call himself woodwork and spend all day on a rival football fans forum? i worry for him when the other 5 that post on that site admit they work in an office. He hates office workers and if he finds out millwall fans also work in them.. what happens then? - You gotta have a look, its comedy gold - take a peak at the reason why no singing can be heard on telly at the den - there's some powerful medication being taken over there. Moody hangs on our every word so i'm sure he'll be pleased he's got a mention.3

Come on, he's politely asked you to stop tagging him.Who cares how they'd behave on their forum, let's be better than that.TootingRedArmy said:Extraordinary! Touched a nerve, did I? Can’t say I’m shocked, politeness isn’t exactly Millwall’s trademark, is it, if you read what he said? The irony of someone from the “No One Likes Us, We Don’t Care” brigade getting all huffy is just Classic.
Honestly, it’s a bit like that awkward bloke who turns up uninvited to a family barbecue no one’s quite sure why he’s there, and everyone just sort of smiles politely until he wanders off. If he wants to hang around here, fine, but you do have to wonder… no Millwall mates to chat with?

You know you've touched a nerve with Millwall Fan and your fellow Charlton fans, and sadly you're revelling in it.TootingRedArmy said:Touched a nerve, did I? If they were on here every week winding everyone up and being a WUM, that would be different, but they're not, and have been a decent contributor to this site for well over a decade.15 -

You said I’m revelling “participating in lively and noisy festivities, especially involving drinking and dancing.” Well, I don’t drink! and the last time I danced was at a wedding under duress. What I am doing is pointing out (again) that Millwall fans attacked Charlton fans, woeful handling of this fixture before, during and after. And the Met Police? Copy, paste, repeat.
I’m sorry, but it’s impossible to see Millwall as anything but a hooligan club when the evidence has been on display for decades. I’ve seen it multi-times, i'm sure most Addicks have too.
Sure, @MillwallFan can chime in, but I’m not here for a lecture on the “virtues” of that fanbase and he doesn't like it when a Charlton fan points out the historical evidence & first hand accounts of of the "bushwackers" so his response is to be rude & throw a hissy.
This thread still has legs unlike some of the Met Police after the last fixture. And it should, because no one should accept the same lazy policing or the same tired excuses next time we play Millwall.

The only reason this thread still has legs is because you keep posting in it TRA. Now if you had an update from something proactive like @PragueAddick then that’s fine but you don’t. You’re just shouting into an empty void and appearing to make yourself more and more wound up. You’ve made <500 in 5 years on CL, I’m willing to be a decent % of those are on this thread.
No one will forget this issue if you stop posting, Prague and CAST are both directly pursuing it.7 -
Just a few notes on Len Duvall before we see him posing his questions, since most of you won’t know him. I only do because of the Olympic Stadium campaign latter stages where we ( a coaliton of STs from other London clubs) tried to get to the Mayor to make West Ham pay more and London pay less due to the abysmal contract. We did have some limited success, once Johnson, who tried to stop the contract being released to the very death, had been replaced by Khan. We had a lot of meetings with several London Assembly members in the process.I had not appreciated before then that the London Assembly is not like a parliament or a local council. Its stated role is “to hold the Mayor to account”. Assembly members of course come from several different political parties and therefore their questions will vary according to whether the Mayor is aligned with them or not politically.
I knew that Len Duvall had been a prominent labour politician for many years. I also knew that he is a West Ham supporter. When I first saw and heard him in the London assembly meetings, I wasn’t very impressed. He did not seem able to speak very fluently, and when he did, he sounded to me like an old skool Labour apparatcik. I was also very aware that as a West Ham supporter, he wasn’t likely to lead the charge against Karren Brady, who frequently appeared before the Assembly, and generally tried to intimidate it.However eventually we did have a personal meeting with him, and I was amazed at the difference. Here he was perfectly fluent, he was empathetic and amusing and quite obviously a football fan, who understands other fans. He managed, without being too explicit, to show us that he had a clear boundary in his head between the interests of his beloved club, and the interests of its current ownership. So in summary don’t be surprised if you are rather underwhelmed by what he says today, and the way he says it. Away from the limelight he is clearly a very effective operator, and it seems to me that he has his own approach to getting answers from the police – he’s not just going to blunder in, because I suspect he’s learnt over the years that that won’t work. I hope and believe that today is just his opening salvo.5 -

Edit: this Plenary is specifically re the Met. Sir Mark Rowley is fielding the questions.
And , it turns out Len is chairing the meeting. I sippose he can hardly put his question in before other members but hopefully he is allowed to ensure time for his own. I have to go out now, I've got to 1h.40 mins which you can certainly skip.0 -
Len Duvall asking question to Mark Rowley now.1
-
Sir Mark unable to answer question but will write to Duvall after enquiries.3

Fair play to Duvall for asking the question but after those enquiries have been made, I can take a good punt what the answer will be.clive said:Sir Mark unable to answer question but will write to Duvall after enquiries. If you don’t ask you don’t get, so kudos for at least for putting it out there8 -
