  • 'Dress rehearsal' for Jack Binks, who will presumably be on the bench on Sunday....
Tuna & Perkins should be an effective combo up front.

GOAL!!!!! Harry Pell curls home an absolute peach for the hosts from 25 yards after a clever step-over from Tuna. Pure quality. 2-0

Good work lads. Keep it up, and see if you can go all the way.

It was a really entertaining game. A typical performance of a Damian Matthew trained team - fast-flowing, attractive, adventurous, attacking, passing football. I thought that the two tall central midfielders, Pell and Anderson, had a good game and Harry Pell's screamer of a goal was better than Kavanagh's against us last Saturday. Bellamy looks a good prospect - fast, aggressive winger. Binks made three outstanding saves. Tamer Tuna had, by his standards, a quiet game and he looked dissatisfied with himself as he came off. Lewis Perkins looked good, though. Yado Mambo had a mixed game - some excellent interventions but, especially in the first half, some of his heading was wayward. Carl Jenkinson was in commanding form at right back and made some surging runs upfield. All in all a very enjoyable evening and we're drawn at home again for the next round - against either Woking or Dagenham and Redbridge. A heartening plus to the evening was seeing all the young first squad players like Jonjo, Scott Wagstaff, Alex Stavrinou and Jack Clark were there to support their young colleagues.

How did Jordan Cousins do? The only schoolboy in the team.

He looked very solid and unflustered for his age. Needless to say Yado took most of the aerial stuff but Cousins looked thoroughly at ease when the ball was on the ground and he passed the ball out neatly. He's nippy, too. Promising.

Well done lads, and cheers Nadou
  • In a world of unpleasant shocks (my CM10 game crashing while we were 12 points clear at the top of the CCC is a good example) this was a nice surprise as SSN gave this as 3-3
  • Thanks for the report Nadou.

    Cheers Nadou, good report.
  • Nadou, i see that as well as Cousins, we also have another kid in the England under 16s squad, Bradley Jordan. Do you know anything about him?

The second Victory Shield match is on tomorrow night. Sky Sports 1, 7:40. I guess Cousins might not play, or if he does not a full game after playing for us last night. Bradley Jordan is a year younger, so an u15 for us at the moment.
Don't know much about Bradley Jordan other than he's a midfielder and has already had a few appearances in our 18s. Hopefully another promising player.

FA site has a bit about the two of them
    Jordan Cousins
    06.03.94

Jordan featured against Scotland in last season’s Victory Shield and then travelled to France in April to help England retain the Montaigu Tournament. He is a tall, energetic midfielder with a good pass and he will look to pass his experience on to this particular group of U16s. Jordan captained the U16s against Wales earlier this month and is also comfortable in defence.

    Bradley Jordan
    21.01.94

Joins fellow Addick, Jordan Cousins, in the squad and like Jordan, Bradley has a good engine and work rate to match. Uses the ball well from the middle of the park.

  • Scoham - if those birthdays are correct then Bradley Jordan is actually older than Cousins, not a year younger.

FA site says Cousins was withdrawn from the squad so he won't feature tomorrow night.

Good point, I misread it. So both are in our u16s.

That's the one. Not fair making kids play in that heat.
