    Cut the expenses and just give the money direct to Lady Irving (ENT theatre sister at Barts). Cash donations can be made via me at any time.

    Think it has just started. Good gesture but would prefer my wife to earn more than £31k pro rata when she is managing 25 staff and two theatres

    I'm none too hot on politics but I'd say you're on the right track there Alex. If 'they' hadn't given all these cuts in income tax (to get them votes from Joe Public) there would be enough in the pot for the NHS, better schooling, police etc. And if they wanted to get footballers to pay their bit then put in new tax thresholds @ £100k £200k etc.
    Hospitals shouldn't have to carry out fund raising for new equipment. They should have sufficient budgets to buy them.

    Looking at the website, I see Charlton are 12th in the table.......is that a portent for where we finish in the Premier this season?
