Advice please.I wish to buy a Soundbar. There are two iam thinking about.Either the
Yamaha S R-X40A,or The Denon DHT S 517.both about the same price on Richer Sounds.
Does anyone have any recommendation which might be the best.

I use Sonos Arc with Era 300s completing the surround set up. (But I’ve heard good things about Denon, if that’s any help)
Now sonos seem to have sorted the mess of last years update all is good again, not that I had many issues with it.Expensive but in my opinion worth it.Being Bluetooth you can play your music through it as well as connecting to Amazon or Apple Music if you wish. They Arc has been replaced by the Arc ultra so you’ll find some good deals about as well as the smaller Beam sound bar.3 -
I must add I do Not have a Smartphone. But I do not want and Apps,Music,or wifi etc

Unless you are really into cinematic sound, don't spend a fortune. What TV do you have and how do you use it (Sky, Virgin etc)
I have this one, but it's paired with a Samsung TV so uses the TV's rear speakers as well. I got it heavily discounted with the TV (£75!)

Spend as much as you can. I bought this quite a few years ago https://www.whathifi.com/yamaha/ysp-5600/review and a Yamaha subwoofer with it.Amazing bit of kit that throws sound around the room as if you have speakers around you, works a treat and elevates the watching experience.Has some great features to improve voice clarity and volume.I would go for the Yamaha, but get a test drive of both at richer sounds.
