Going to a social occasion where I recognised lots of people I hadn't seen for years. Noticing the sad truth that there are two distinct kinds of people in this age group: those who've shrunk and those who've ballooned. So, if you've reached a certain age and haven't reverted to kiddie clothes, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but you're one of the bloaters.

Seeing The Mrs Merton show on TV. What a steaming pile of crap.
  • I've a little side hustle as a steward.

Worked an 8 hour function today. My knee is now killing me and everything seems to hurt.

But the thing that really made me chuckle was as I held the door open for departing guests and wished them goodnight, one young lady said to me "Thanks but you get yourself back inside. You shouldn't be out in this cold".

She's right, of course, but it still made me feel very old!

Found my copy of Keith Peacock's book No Substitute whilst trying to find something else.

Couldn't resist looking at it again and reading once more about his early days as his first season in the first team was my first season attending matches.

Very enjoyable until the thought that it is 62 (pushing 63) years since I first went to The Valley on the East Terrace.

Not as young as I once was.

Which means I started at Secondary School 36 years ago this September & therefore finished my GCSE’s 30 years ago this June……. Bloody Hell 😳

Which also means it’s 30 years since Euro 96 and so the 30 years of hurt that Baddiel & Skinner referred to in the original Three Lions is now 60 years……

Wish I’d never seen this thread 😂

When you're invited by text or letter for a test at the Docs and you come out with a prescription for a new ailment you never knew you had.
