I am still watching in the vain hope that a large chunk of concrete might fall from the ceiling and crush anyone who had a hand in putting this nonsense on

Well the first hour was special. The second hour and a half was not.

Well that was your typically, slick, fast paced and exciting programme as perfected by the Yanks! Who on earth thought Rio would be the ideal man to front it?

If expected teams win their group, England’s likely path in the knockouts:

RO32: 3rd placed team in Atlanta, Wed 1st July

RO16: Mexico in Mexico City, Sun 5th July

QF: Brazil in Miami, Sat 11th July

SF: Argentina in Atlanta, Wed 15th July

F: Spain/France in New York, Sun 19th July

So from what I can work out we're playing in Toronto twice and New Jersey once?

Venues and times for group games will be announced tomorrow.

Game 1 against Croatia will be in Dallas or Toronto

Game 2 against Ghana will be in Toronto or Boston (Foxborough)

Game 3 against Panama will be in Philadelphia or New York (East Rutherford)

Groups A, C and L are in the same quarter of the knockout so we’re in a trio with Mexico (potentially Round of 16) and Brazil (potentially quarter final).

    Other trios are
    - France, Germany, Netherlands
    - Argentina, Portugal, Canada
    - Spain, Belgium, USA

If Italy make it to the finals they'll have a pretty easy group by the look of things, Canada, Qatar and Switzerland

One bent c.nt, giving another bent c.nt a peace prize, only at FIFA.

Including the groups, France have got the toughest draw of the tournament. Spain have got a bye to the semis.

I would be stunned if FIFA choose to put England v Croatia in a 45,000 seater stadium when 94,000 seats in Dallas will be an option.

Can FIFA be any more toadying, sycophantic and money obsessed than awarding peace prizes? Perhaps the Nobel committee can start awarding golden boots!

And if Croatia win the group with England 2nd, the England path would look something like:

    RO32: Colombia in Toronto

    RO16: Spain in Dallas

    QF: Belgium in Los Angeles

    SF: France in Dallas

    F: Argentina/Brazil in New York
