Club Statement - Fan Sadly Passed - RIP
I think the vast majority of us know who it is but as the club haven’t named id be grateful if we can withold saying on here until somewhere more official does.
I left the ground in tears, only spoke to him a fortnight ago. RIP
The club are devastated to report that a Charlton Athletic supporter has died following a medical emergency during today’s game at The Valley against Portsmouth.
The match was halted in the 12th minute while the supporter received treatment and was subsequently postponed.
The club would like to thank the Charlton staff and first responders who did everything they could, but sadly the supporter later passed away in hospital.
The club are grateful to supporters in attendance and the Portsmouth players and staff for their patience and understanding as this tragedy unfolded.
Everyone at the club sends their heartfelt condolences to the supporter’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Hope between now and Tuesday is enough time for the club to put a fitting tribute in place.
RIP to a one of a kind character, and a proper Charlton Legend, despite never playing football for us, was a "face" you'd always look out for on big away days, at Wembley, and other big occasions associated with our great club.
