Lloyd Jones threw up pitchside then hence the delay getting him back on.6

He is experienced in the side now and needs to take responsibility, he wasn't good against Middlesbrough... although he has been asked to play away from his natural position of late. Fans have opinions and it was clear to everyone that a change was needed. From my experience Charlton fans will always back players/team as long as there is an effort and desire to win the ball. Today he was rightly 'rested' ...came on and did his job.swords_alive said:TC reluctant to go to the traveling fans when he scored. Clearly visible from TV coverage, even when pushed that way by one of our players (not sure who). Understandable for the grief he has been getting from a significant number. Also shows what a sensitive soul he is, and possibly why that grief can be damaging. Hopefully he kicks on and can get back to a more natural forward, out-ball position with other players returning.15 -
TC has spent the majority of his career in league one. He has played in at least five positions. He does whatever job he is asked to do to the best of his ability - and if his ability is league one then so be it. He has had different managers in his short career with different approaches and ways of managing him.Does he frustrate? Absolutely. But then most wide players do especially in the lower leagues. He clearly had a fan in Jones who will play him and defend him - certainly in public- and that is what he should do. I’ve no doubt in private he will have had a stern word about his lack of challenge in the previous game which led to their second goal.
But he clearly brings something to the team others in the squad don’t. We don’t see his numbers or data but it must be well in the positive to play every game.
I think Jones didn’t right thing today by taking him out of the firing line. When he comes on he is a real problem for opponents. And even when he starts it seems most opposing fans regard him as our main threat.
I don’t know him but he strikes me as a fairly quiet and unassuming person. My educated guess is that he’s quite an introvert and will take criticism personally. He is a young man who deserves our support and patience. Hopefully today will have done him the world of good and we see a more consistent and productive TC from now on.34 -
I feel for TC but playing him every week has done him no favours. He is so young so I really hope he's not been reading this site under any circumstances!
However pulling out of that 50/50 tackle last week was I think the reason he actually got dropped today. Remember Bowyer subbed someone off years back for doing the same and he said as much that no player should ever do that.
Anyway, it was a good composed goal but for me I'd still leave him on the bench as an impact player for a bit longer.

Its how that criticism gets handed out that needs looking at though... I mean if you're going to criticise his performances the way that you've done, there can be no real complaints - But you only need to go look at the "abuse" that Leaburn was getting for his miss in the first half on the Match Thread, because lets be honest, that's not an isolated incident towards Miles either.ossie64 said:

Nice skill from Tanto and a calm head from TC.Callumcafc said:

Not surprised, given he was on all fours at one point, and clearly hadn't been involved in any sort of coming together that could have resulted in concussion at the time either.Callumcafc said:Lloyd Jones threw up pitchside then hence the delay getting him back on.0 -
I don't think it was a case of pulling out but more he was waiting for the ball to come to him when he should have just attacked it.peterreeves said:I feel for TC but playing him every week has done him no favours. Angry Tanto is fantastic to watch! Feared him being wound up and on a yellow but it certainly up’d his game and lead to being involved in the goal too.. want to see more of that! Will add though, there’s been a lot of frustrations aimed at TC, but I find Leaburn the player that angers me so much more. Just don’t think he’s cut out for this league and that miss was a perfect example of it.4

Great point. I look at Anderson and Fuller, players who have not been affected by this bad run and they played with their heads up and it helped everyone else. I'm glad Campbell got his goal but he clearly had the hump and had to be told by Lloyd Jones to go to the fans, quite simply, the fans did not get you dropped, you achieved that on your own, grow a pair please. Apart from that, I thought Birmingham were poor, we were there for the taking first half and they didn't push on.10

This. I actually think 2 of his best performances this year were today and at Ipswich, where he was sub both times.peterreeves said:I feel for TC but playing him every week has done him no favours. He is so young so I really hope he's not been reading this site under any circumstances!

Coming on and being fresh and able to run at tiring defenders is a big plus.15 -
I remember those days. Sunday mornings at Danson Park or Hall Place after a heavy Sat night. Thats what the oranges are for at HT.Callumcafc said:Lloyd Jones threw up pitchside then hence the delay getting him back on.15 -
Lloyd Jones's commitment levels are admirable.25

Lloyd Jones adding to his legend status. I would never have guessed he'd actually vomited as he played so well.5

Great point to stop the rot and with the scoreline from the Den that makes it a good afternoon in my book.5

Unfortunately FA, that will not change, it's another consequence of this or any other bad run, I remember when Johnnie Jackson was appointed as Manager after winning nine league games, people were besides themselves that Sandgaard was dithering over his appointment, he gor the job, a month later he lost Stockley and Washington to injury and we couldn't score in a brothel, the same people wanted him sacked ASAP.ForeverAddickted said:

The Brum commentators on the stream I watched kept banging on in the second half that Lloyd should not be on the pitch because he had a concussion injury even though they admitted they had not seen the injury nor did they have access to any replays either.Callumcafc said:Lloyd Jones threw up pitchside then hence the delay getting him back on.13 -
In the end it was a fun watch. Although we were second best in the first half, I never thought we really looked in trouble. I was worrried we would never score, Tanto and Jones both couldn’t hit the target with decent headers, and Leaburns miss was woeful. We looked the better team for the first 30 minutes of the second half, but Brum did pick it up after we equalized, and I was glad to hear the final whistle.Fullah did a decent job at wingback - he’d obviously been told to make sure he defended, which stopped him getting forward too much, but it was what me needed. Anderson looked good, although he had a little spell mid first half where he couldn’t find a red shirt with his passes. JRC showed a nice bit of skill beating 2/3 players, although his final ball was poor.Overall, not a bad day.5

They were ok the first half but in the second half they, well him in particular, became very biased against us. Keep mentioning how Jones shouldn't be still on due to concussion and NJ going against protocols.jonno said:

Then that whole Anderson tackle on Stansfield by the half way line and saying he was lucky as he wasn't the last man so that's why Anderson only got the yellow did make me laugh.

Quality day out in Birmingham. Few beers before in the City Centre and a decent game to watch in an old school stadium
Class from Birmingham to put a picture up of Norman during the first half and to their fans joining in with the applause.
Fair play to the players how they fought back from a goal down and that sitter from Leaburn in the first half.
Anderson was different class in the midfield today and never stopped running. Best game I’ve seen from Isaac this season.Stopped the rot and now onto 3 games against teams below us in the table.20 -
A priceless point! And, I hope, confidence restored.1
-
Deserved point really should have been 3 Leaburn miss from 6 yards .. but we take it and move on to a massive game next week with hopefully a couple of players returning ..

Stops the rot welcome point.0

all been said, a battling performance breaks the log jam .. we'll need plenty of that next week v Oxford, in fact for the rest of the season .. 100/100
