Songs of London

As most of us come from or know very well this beautiful fucked up city we call the big smoke I was thinking what songs remind you or represent it's many damp and dark streets. Streets where dreams are made some might say. (No one I know says that but anyway)
I went for a classic to begin with. I have been on this bridge at sunset and at sunrise and of course at many other times and have to say for me it's probably the best, most iconic and inspiring views of London you can have on foot.

Broad street station apparently, now demolished, and some great slam doors at the end.Stig said:2 -
Did it somehow get incorporated into Liverpool Street when that was renovated (not the building, but the lines I'm thinking).swords_alive said:

I think that the OP got it right with The Kinks. Many of their songs seem to give reference to London. Other songs of theirs that spring to mind are Dedicated Follower of Fashion and Come Dancing.
Other bands I can think of who did this were The Jam and Saint Etienne.2 -
Lee Green Green Grass Of Home?8

Jamie T - Shelia
Even had the video of Bob Hoskins walking along the south bank.1 -

That North London Forever thing irritates the shit out of me:
Arsenal have latched on to it conveniently forgetting their Woolwich up bringing.
The Pie, Mash & Liquor reference claiming it’s part of their heritage
Bloody Arsenal creating their own history, just like the stripey lot from Surrey6 -
"Little old lady, lay mutilated late last night......Werewolves of London again"
Towers of London - XTC
A foggy day in London Town- Frank Sinatra.
Marios's Cafe - St Etienne

Accept - London Leatherboys0

Ed Warwick Avenue - Adele
Strange Town, A Bomb in Wardour St, Down in the Tube Station at Midnight - All the Jam1 -
