Both great, but Stig clinches it for me by catching the kestrel in flight.0

So so hard.I think I prefer Suedes as a single photograph, but in Olympic diving scoring style, the additional difficulty quotient of Stigs photo just edges
him ahead on my scoring.I am going for Stig (but would have Suedes on my wall)4 -

Both brilliant, but @Stig0

Two excellent photos, so really difficult for all.

Truly great photos in both semis and well done Suede. I love looking at all the fantastic pics that people post on here - apart from the competition there are some really lovely photos on the other threads.2

Great competition that. Thanks to @BDL & Clifton's and everyone who was involved in one way or another.
Well done @SuedeAdidas, that's a fantastic photo and a very worthy winner. And well done to everyone else, because there's a lot of talented picture takers on here.
Cheers all!7 -
BTW, it is a Kestrel
Very difficult to tell apart unless it's your thing though. There are subtle clues though. The one I like is that Kestrels always have dark/black eyes. Hawks have coloured eyes, usually yellow but sometimes orange or red.
Enough of that though, it's Suede's win, we should be celebrating his wonderful picture. I'm still amazed at how perfectly aligned it is. It looks so cool.5 -

In the field behind where I currently work, Kestrel's can often be spotted hovering whilst searching for prey.
By the time I whip out my phone, zoom in and try to get it in frame, it's usually cleared off.
You must have the patience of a saint. 👏3 -
If it was made of metal/canvas/wood and flew I’d be disappointed with myself 😉Stig said:BTW, it is a Kestrel
