  • HT 0-0, should be at least one up, started slow, but grew into the game and have been the better side, looking forward to second half kicking towards The Covered End, and an appearance from Kelman up top...
  • Colchester 2-0 up Mbick assist

    HT 0-0.

At times we were in danger of playing good football but we soon reined that in once we got within 30 yards of Oxford's goal.

Tanto had to score that, really pleased for Apter, been harshly treated but playing well, begs the question, why hasn't he been played on the left before?
  • We're the better of two poor sides. Not much else needs to be said.

There are times when Olaofe looks like a player out of the Sunday league, should have finished the chance but has not stopped running, an enigma for sure. Oxford are not good but we need to finish our chances, good performance by Apter, Carey and Miles, but we need a goal.

If someone bet on Weds, Oxford and us to go down it wouldn’t be the worst bet in the world, put it that way.

Very ordinary game, which we've shaded without showing a lot of quality.

I think he's needed a bit of a kick up the arse to be honest. He's angered Jones by not delivering enough on the defensive side of the game, especially in that Saints game and he's got to learn that he'll only get to do the fun stuff if he's also willing to do the dirty work and he looks more up for it today. Plus it does involve a bit of rebalancing; you really wouldn't want him starting there if TC was playing as they'd end up occupying the same space. Tanto plays more centrally and it gives Apter room to move into

Not the worst half of football...we really should be ahead with Carey missing the target twice when he should have scored. The first after Tanto hit his shot straight at the keeper, and the second after a good dribble right on h/t. Apter is doing ok, and Karoy is getting stuck in. Miles has also woken up and is winning most challenges.

Yhis is very winnable but it might be Kelman or TC who does it.

    COYA!

  • Word of praise for Apter.

Playing in an unfamiliar left wing back role, he has done well.
  • Some people were giving Charlie Kelman a lot of stick for his lack of goals. But we are missing his movement, pressing and ability to hold the ball and link up with his teammates. Tanto and Leaburn are hopeless!
What are you watching!?! Leaburn has been winning almost everything he’s contested so far today and been involved in the build up to all our chances.
Leaburn has been decent today, but generally speaking, he's terrible compared to Kelman.

Our game to win in the second half. Just hope it’s not the proverbial “game of two halves”.

They can’t handle Leaburn. Would like to see TC on early alongside him.

Think Tanto is making a case for worse individual attacker performance of the season

Kelman’s better for pressing, but Leaburn’s far better in the air. Neither have scored goals or even had many shots or consistently held up the ball well, but Leaburn’s showing signs he might be getting there.

Kelman for me, he has the natural striker movement that TC doesn't. Let TC come on as LWB and drive at the Oxford defence from deep

We should be ahead I hope we can keep this up as that should see the 3 points in the bag. Best half of the season from Leaburn he is finally showing glimpses of what he can be

Is exactly what I'd do around the 60th minute onwards as well
