I still like him. Solid Championship player.  He may not be outstanding like we all hoped in his early games but he is easily good enough for a mid range Championship team we currently aspire to be.
I would like to think so but wasn’t convinced at all last night. I’d prefer the flair and occasional brilliance of Small any day.

Small’s the type of player someone like Bree needs to get the best out of him. TC as the only starter remotely like that isn’t enough.

Hopefully, that second half on Tuesday will result in a bit more pace and flair in the team.

I have this niggling feeling he’s still playing through injury. His delivery has been poor post Wrexham game when we were told he couldn’t cross due to injury

Jones basically doesnt trust Costello at Wing-Back, cant play Apter there because then we're back to Southampton and going into games with no natural defensive cover there, cant play Ramsay there because Burke is injured and Gough is inexperienced, cant play Laqeretabua there for similar reasons.

A lot could really be resolved if we can get cover in the January Window, or start to get injured players back. Would probably be a lot easier if we still had one of Bell or Edwards who could play over on the left, as that's when you'd probably be seeing a little bit more of Apter

My other theory is he needs a haircut, he was much better with more of a buzz cut. Maybe Nathan just needs to get the clippers out?

We’ve still got time to reach Dan Seabourne levels!

  • That was an unbelievably.poor performance.  He was practically pleading not to take the corners but even when he didn't our tactic was to take a short one to him.  Woeful management today I am afraid.

Since Wrexham away he's looked incredibly poor. Probably knows he's going back now because Eckert will want a look at him/keep him around as depth.

If Eckert watches today’s game back,  he won’t want anything to do with him

Haha fair point! Although they did lose at Oxford with an out and out winger at RWB today so not sure what their depth is like.

But it’s not just this game today, it’s been the last few, he can’t kick the ball properly at the moment!!

The fact he took the free kick over Gillesphey too, as soon as he also stepped up I said "he'll fuck this up"

Tbf Gillesphey himself has not taken a decent free kick since Wembley

But Bree had already taken half a dozen poor set pieces this game. So why he thought this would be any different is beyond me

I was astounded when we swapped the corner taker because he’d been shit, then took a short one to the player who’d been sacked off for being shit to then produce another shit cross!! I mean, that’s just shit!!!!

Decent enough defensively but shown today without his set pieces/crossing he doesn’t offer anywhere near enough going forward, would probably suit a RB/RCB role better than a RWB
  • His set plays have been generally poor for a while now. Against Oxford he was barely beating the first man, I’m sure it’s happened regularly before as well. I know we want Carey lurking outside the box but I think we’re better off him taking the corners.
  • There was mention of an injury that stopped him hitting balls as he wished, right? Hasn't been the same since.

Need options so he can be rested... especially after a showing like that
  • He’s not up for the fight, bomb him out
