As usual had a tear filled morning watching the parade on TV and seeing the parade up Bexleyheath thoughts to all
When watching some of the programmes on TV i was wondering how many players we lost during the wars and if there is a minute silence on saturday for them....
very heart warming to see so many children at the parade

Four members of the club lost their lives in the first war.

The records aren't clear but a WW1 historian and Charlton fan Clive Harris has done some research and found Fred Chick but not the other three.

I miss the Peanut man, Addickted and I visited Fred's grave last year.

A lot of players served in WWII and saw active service, others were PT instructors.
  • Cheers Henry i was wondering as the numbers lost in the First world war i thought we must have lost players or staff......hope there will be something in programme on saturday.........

I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but at the minutes silence before yesterday's game, did you see the way Mcloud was standing, legs crossed leaning on a team mate. Didn't look as though he gave a monkeys about it to be honest. Disrespectful!
