Wasn't Haydon Roberts mentioned in the summer as a target on here? Ex Brighton academy who can also play LB.
My son knows him, he wants to come, not sure if we want him tho
Would be an upgrade on Gilly if LCB is on the shopping list.

I just hope there's a serious budget to go and get 3-4 quality players , not Prem U21 kids on their first loan in this situation.
The time for the serious budget was the summer transfer period, not now.
Werent we one of the biggest spenders in the summer?
Edit: We had the second highest net spend...

Doesn’t explicitly name Charlton but thought worth posting

He plays the TC role for Barnsley: left winger who cuts in on his right foot. 5 goals and 6 assists from 16 games (11 starts) this season.
Funnily enough Blackburn fans sounding very similar to us, comments under the tweet about playing him out of position as they play wing-backs and strikers and he's neither, and someone else wishing for Kellior-Dunn instead.

Are People suggesting plucking the best of league 1 not watching our team?, we’ve done that already and a lot of people are saying how they haven’t stepped up, so why on earth fish in that same pond. We are not in a position to gamble on unproven players now. Proven experience or undoubted talent is required, where that is I don’t know, hope NJ and Phil C do.

An untried player from Japan won't change our season , so I am not disappointed. Hopefully Bree can rediscover his form and resolve the RWB issue.

On the LWB I see this as a six month fix to allow Edwards to return when fit I really feel we need to go into the loan market or look at players approaching the end of their contracts and out of favour with their clubs.

I would like a few more to bolster the squad..Maybe an experienced CB to allow us to rotate Jones another midfield option and a proven striker.

Let's leave Kanu and M'Bick where they are. Maybe next season they will be ready

Someone who can play LCB/LB/LWB would be ideal, more competition in both positions, and having a more defensive player on that side means we have the option of playing Apter on the right and TC on the left in the 3-5-2/4-2-3-1 that was working well at the start of the season.

Kelman and Leaburn up front together is an option, but it’s not looking so good that I’d want it to be our main way of playing every game.

I hadn't realised Barnsley were so poor this season, down in 15th and much nearer the relegation places than the playoffs. Keillor-Dunn has done the business for them this season, but keeping him hasn't made them a decent side.

Bit like us when we had Alfie May, they've got one of the top scorers in the Division currently.
But they've got the sixth worst defence in the League
Who would have thought that solely having someone scoring goals constantly is never enough

I appreciate we need some battle-hardened Championship performers, but wouldn’t mind us having a word with Chelsea about their young striker Shim Mheuka. Scores with both feet and good in the air too, great touch and strength and doesn’t mind getting stuck in. Sounds like he’s available for a loan, but did we sully our relationship with them over Fofana in the summer.

Whatever budget we have needs to go all out on a LWB. Don't worry about putting Josh's nose out of joint he needs competition and I think he'd be excellent at LCB also so its not as if LWB is he's only position for us

I read your reply in the theme of turning Japanese by the vapors for some reason.

BBC have done a piece on every championship side and reckon we need a LCB who can play LWB, an energetic CM who can tackle and a target man ST
We need a LCB to allow us to offload Macca, and a rapid LWB, not utility man who is average at both.
