Thats a fairly attacking lineup. Not sure that midfield has the legs for it after Pompey. Not sure Burke and Bell will both make it through unscathed

Coventry fans don’t seem happy about their lineup of that’s any crumb of comfort for us…

    so you’re telling me there’s a chance?

No need to worry about Simms. Our scouts weren't interested a couple of years ago so must be a dud.
I remember reading that too. Still surprises me Gallen had never heard of him. Seems a very basic thing to check who the PL u21s top scorers are.

Teams really do tend to go for a back five against us these days... Seems to be one way to stop us
Especially with our Wing-Backs either injured, or not firing

We will get at least 8 corners today. I wonder how many of these will hit their man at the front post or be floated very high to the back post and be cleared. We need someone on the pitch who can whip in a corner at real pace beating their man at the front post and creating chaos. That player is Apter but he's on the bench.

Former #cafc loanee Jay Dasilva suspended today for Coventry City.

Frank Lampard only names eight substitutes but you've got to say that Rudoni, Sakamoto and Mason-Clark as options to come on means he can have the world's smallest violin.

When you say our scouts... As I recall that was when Gallen was with us and was basically our Director of Football and entire scouting team and a large part of our recruitment consisted of him pulling in favours from his chums like Freedman at Palace for incredibly cheap loanees as we essentially had close to a zero budget.
But, no, I am sure you are right and our scouts knew all about him and chose not to go for him even though we had as much money as the others.

No mention on official site preview when they talk about injuries. Strange.

He's just been shown on the Stream walking into the dressing room, so imagine that he's just not able to make the 20-man squad at the moment, especially as Burke and Bell are now available again - Same could be said about Hernandez and Rousillon

Differences in the Starting Eleven's from the reverse fixture, those in red didn't start the game at the Ricoh

Not complaining to see Rudoni, Mason-Clark and Sakamoto on the bench, but those are some options if they're not winning
They obviously think they can beat us without them. Sensible from Jones to name an unchanged team probably. Still odd that Anderson isn’t in the squad.
Yeah and they've "only" got Birmingham on Sunday, so its not like they're worried about a huge match coming up... Unless this is the fallout from the Ipswich defeat, and they're being rested after that which is most likely
    Agree with you RE: Anderson
Yeah, I did wonder if it’s also a bit of Lampard reacting to a couple of defeats too.

We did alright with this lineup, apart from the last minute goal.

Have to assume the starting line up, is because of injuries and managing fitness of players. It does not give me confidence.

A fair few tourists and newbies today, judging from the languages being spoken and number of photos taken!

Nice little resume of 2025 there with some memorable goals and performances, now, we just need to wake up to our latest position and restart 2026 with a good solid game today, and maybe, just maybe...
