Celtic Champions Already??

Superb stuff, shame not to get the 3 goal buffer to get second.
It's very important to give new managers plenty of time.1 -
So Celtic sack Rogers following a run of three wins in 10 matches, O'Neill takes over as caretaker and they win six and draw one out of eight and then the new permanent manager achieves six defeats in his first eight.
Which rather suggests that Celtic perhaps should have kept O'Neill on and asked him to groom a potentially younger successor. And saved themselves a shed load in compensation in the process.2 -
Or at least appoint a manager who would play in a similar way to O'Neill.Addick Addict said:So Celtic sack Rogers following a run of three wins in 10 matches, O'Neill takes over as caretaker and they win six and draw one out of eight and then the new permanent manager achieves six defeats in his first eight.

A wonderfully pleasing scoreline.2

Celtic will still win the league as they can't let Nancy continue. Surely O'Neill will be back soon and then they'll go on a run again. Get him back as caretaker for 5 months and get a new manager in the summer.Addick Addict said:So Celtic sack Rogers following a run of three wins in 10 matches, O'Neill takes over as caretaker and they win six and draw one out of eight and then the new permanent manager achieves six defeats in his first eight.

Danny Rohl done very well with Wednesday, if he can carry on in the same form until the next auld firm game they have a very good chance of winning the title.0 -
Up the Jam Tarts!3

Nancy saying just moments in the game let us down and him and the Celtic directors are together. I hope that's true.2

Hopefully extend his contractKarim_myBagheri said:Nancy saying just moments in the game let us down and him and the Celtic directors are together. I hope that's true.0 -
Absolutely this. And the one centre back in the three is an absolute liability. Together with the fact that Kaspar had been shocking all season. Joe Hart, sitting in the stands today, would still be better. Mind you, so would Chris Kamara who he was sitting with!!Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Their 3 at the back is a mess. If you want to play that way then at least play 3 centre backs there, he's got 2 full backs in the back 3 and they're all over the place.Clem_Snide said:Cannot believe how Celtic have capitulated here. They were utterly dominant in the 1st half and have just crumbled. Absolutely woeful from a defensive perspective.
In a way it's like Amorim at United, just play a system that suits the players at your disposal, not trying to shoehorn them into a system they're clearly uncomfortable with.Nancy saying that he’s trying to change completely the style of play & this normally takes a couple of months pre-season work, but that the directors knew this. That just screams utter arrogance & complacency from the board.Celtic should have been 2 or 3 up at half time, but crumbled as soon as Rangers started to play. Totally deserved the win.2 -

Nancy is the wrong appointment at the wrong time. He's a system manager to a fault , 352 without natural wingbacks and 2 fullbacks in a back 3 is absolutely never going to work mid season. Even if he gets some signings in Jan I can't see how this works out.0

Celtic played well 1st half against a timid Rangers and should have been at least 2 up at HT. After a good team talk at HT and some tweaks Rangers started winning the 50/50's and they looked really potent as Celtic fell apart in defence.
Trusty the Celtic defender was at fault for both goals: not going towards Chermiti and letting him get a shot at goal was a shocker; insult to kids to say it was a schoolboy error!
I want the Jambos, or Jam tarts for Cockneys to win the League to take the title away from Glasgow.
Heart of Midlothian was a book by Walter Scott about the prison in Edinburgh. Do Hearts have the key to unlock the door to the title ?
75 years since they won the title.6 -

I would prefer it were Hibs (or rather Ross County!!), but I'll take Hearts if the Old Firm dominance can be broken. Even though Hearts are majority fan owned, Tony Bloom definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to running football clubs.1 -
Poor old Ross County have fallen off a cliff at the moment. Really hope they can turn things around.bobmunro said:soapboxsam said:Celtic played well 1st half against a timid Rangers and should have been at least 2 up at HT. Nancy gone!
Got rid of Tisdale as Director of Operations too. He’d recommended Nancy.0 -
Very poor, you need to give a manager time.0
-

When one door shuts, another opens.4 -
Martin O'Neill to come back. They must surely do this and have him their for the remainder of the season. It will allow them the chance of O'Neill getting them back on track and winning the title.1
-
Rod Stewart wants O'Neill back and then give the job to Robbie Keane for next season.0

I don't understand why managers can't adapt their formations or why hire them if they don't havethe players to suit the system. Even with Nathan Jones its baffling at timesMarcusH26 said:Nancy is the wrong appointment at the wrong time. I don't want to talk about it.

Completely agree. Very poor from the board to hire a manager and then sack him before he's even had time to sign a single player to fit the system you knew he would play when you hired him.Friend Or Defoe said:Very poor, you need to give a manager time.
A club who once had 4 managers in 81 years are now onto their 4th in one season. Laughing stock.2 -

Lots of money to burn in Glasgow on managerial appointments.

I'd say there would have been riots by the fans if he wasn't replaced.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Perfect excuse for the board to have another poor transfer window as O’Neill is only there temporarily.0

Welcome back Martin. Love it if he turns it around.2

Absolutely, but he'll win the league.mart77 said:Perfect excuse for the board to have another poor transfer window as O’Neill is only there temporarily.0
