Crystal Palace played their 32rd game of the season against Newcastle on the 4th Jan 26.
    According to MOTD.

During 1993/1994 season Charlton had already played 25 league games , 2 Coca - Cola cup games and 6 Anglo-Italian cup games Jan3rd making 33 games played.

A people complain we play to much football now.
  • During the Spurs vs Liverpool game today
Bradley got replaced by Isak on 46'... Isak got replaced by Frimpong on 60'...Frimpong got replaced by Chiesa on 90'
I know Isak was injured after scoring
But can't be many times in the past where the subtitute has been subtituted that many times?
Good stat! I can only recall witnessing that happen once before - England Slovakia 2009.

Emile Heskey replaced by Carlton Cole (15)
Carlton Cole replaced by Peter Crouch (35)
Peter Crouch replaced by Michael Carrick (74)

In both games, the player in the chain of substituted players wearing number 9 - Isak & Heskey - scored the opening goal of the match.
  • If West Ham and Wolves are both relegated from the top flight and none of Watford, West Brom or Wrexham are promoted it will mean there are no sides beginning with the letter W in the top flight of English football for the first time ever.

That will leave A as the only letter that has been represented in every season.

Talking of which. The father of Olympic Champion skater, Robin Cousins - Fred Cousins - was an apprentice goalkeeper at Millwall before WWII. He contracted TB when serving in Mombassa and that put paid to any chance of a pro career after the war.

Igor Thiago has already set the record for the most goals scored by a Brazilian player in one Premier League season.

Crystal Palaces's humiliation by non-league Macclesfield this afternoon gives them the worst ever record as 'holders' of the cup*.

*I haven't actually checked if this is true, but I'm thinking it must be, and even if it isn't I still like to think of it that way ;)

United were holders and chose to go to the Club World Cup instead of defending the FA Cup. I would say they are the worst before today. There were 117 places between Macclesfield and Palace. No 6th tier side has ever beaten a top flight side either.

Nuno Espirito Santo has won more Spurs home games as the visiting manager than he did while he was Spurs' manager (3 as the home manager, 4 with 3 different visiting clubs).

  • Sheffield Wednesday could end the season on less points than they started with.
  • Salford vs Swindon this season...
rLeagueTwo - Swindon have now lost to Salford 3 times this season with the same 3-2 scoreline

  • Leicester beat Norwich 2-1 this season, and Manning was sacked... Leicester beat West Brom 2-1 and Mason got sacked... Leicester lost 1-2 against Oxford... and their Manager got sacked.

  • No one that turns 50 this year ever made a senior appearance for the mens England football team.

1976 is the only year in the twentieth century where no one born in that year was ever capped.

Charlton only ever play a team when it’s the new manager's first game in charge. Fact.
  • Since Bruno Guimaraes signed for Newcastle in January 2022, they have never won a Premier league game when he hasn't played.

Bromley have scored either two or three goals in each of their last 15 home league matches. The last time they failed to do so was in a 1-0 win against Morecambe on 18th April last year.

    1980-1 Season

League Cup 2nd Round 1st Leg Carlisle 1 Charlton 2
                                         2nd Leg Charlton 2 Carlisle 1

    League Division 3          Charlton 2 Carlisle 1
                                         Carlisle 1 Charlton 2

Went to three of those, passed on the midweek league cup game. Think they were sick of the sight of us by the end of the season.
