A scout was watching him v Oxford. Didn’t write much in first half thoughAFKABartram said:
Bit gutted about this. I’ve high hopes for Karoy and would have liked him to have been given more chance this seasonRadostanradical said:Anderson to Wycombe on loan is close.

Because loans won’t be able to play in cup tie to save wasting a week we might not announce loans till next week .. does not mean no one training with us .. and everything been agreed4

As long as they are not cup - tied they could if the parent club allows it as we have with Kanu and M'BickRonnieMoore said:Because loans won’t be able to play in cup tie to save wasting a week we might not announce loans till next week .. does not mean no one training with us .. and everything been agreed1 -

To be fair he's not wrong... Whats the point of announcing it now, if there is no intention of playing them against Chelsea... From a match perspective we'd just be saying: "Hey look at our new signing Sheff Utd"Todds_right_hook said:

You know these things aren’t secret. People will talk, it’s not like they get bundled in the back of a van from training ground to training ground. Agents and managers in football circles will know when someone is on the moveForeverAddickted said:

Signing announcements only happen as a form of PR, there's no need to hold them back unless you can surprise a team with them in the lineup. I've only ever seen that happen once and it was last weekend, someone annoucned 3 new signings by just popping them in their 11!ForeverAddickted said:

Loans can play. If we signed a player on loan for the rest of season from a premier league or championship club, they won’t be cup tied and as the loan will be until the end of the season with no recall, why can’t they play and why would the cup delay things. A cup game is the perfect time to give any new signings, including loans a run out.ForeverAddickted said:

Exactly. We should be looking to sign players asap so as to give them as long as possible to get used to our tactics & to gel with their team mates.Todds_right_hook said:

But what we'll get is meely mouthed soundbites why they couldn't play against Sheff U (not acclimatised yet) or Derby (ditto) or Millwall (can't throw a new player into a red hot derby / cauldron of hate).
Might see a new signing on the bench in Feb. They might even start a game by March.2 -
Wonder if West Ham are happy with their new signings up top ? £50m ish, straight in the team for a nearly must win game 🤷♂️ and bosh - that stadium is gonna look sparser and sparser if they don’t pick up soon 😂7

Quite right mate, but I think we’ll need Noah to break out the Ark if we haven’t signed anyone in the next couple of weeks 😉The Prince-e-Paul said:2 -

Leo Castledine has been mentioned previously, he's apparently available for just 1 million as he's out of contract in the summer.7

Absolute steal whoever gets him for that, just hope we are in with a shout because he is absolutely quality.covered_end_junior said:Leo Castledine has been mentioned previously, he's apparently available for just 1 million as he's out of contract in the summer.2 -

Half the championship is after him which gives us no chance unfortunately. Maybe we could say to Chelsea we will let them win on Saturday if we can have himcovered_end_junior said:Leo Castledine has been mentioned previously, he's apparently available for just 1 million as he's out of contract in the summer.17 -

I think it’s being emphasised by some of the players going and being linked to other clubs, we are probably fishing in a completely different pond, I was quite optimistic about us finishing mid table earlier in the season, but feeling a little edgy now, would really like a bit of encouraging transfer news. Early days though I know.6

You'd like to have seen 1 or 2 in already by now. We have known for months we have been struggling and need reinforcements, window has been open a week, things shouldn't start moving just as it hits January 1st, wheels should have been turning for weeks before. You've seen other clubs manage to make movements so it is possible.Sword65pf said:I think it’s being emphasised by some of the players going and being linked to other clubs, we are probably fishing in a completely different pond, I was quite optimistic about us finishing mid table earlier in the season, but feeling a little edgy now, would really like a bit of encouraging transfer news. As usual though my expectations are on the ground. I am not expecting anything too exciting to strengthen our squad.
As soon as I read it would be a sensible window, that was that.7 -
Maybe the likes of Edward’s and Godden coming back is part of the consideration in not diving in at the earliest opportunity - the closer they get to a return, the more confidence they’ll have in them so might affect where we bolster - me, i think a couple of specialist wingbacks and a powerhouse box to box midfielder - if Goddens comeback had / goes to shit then another striker but looks to be going well so I’d look elsewhere1

They almost certainly have been, almost all of the business that's been done so far has been by teams near the top of the league and as such having stronger hands and higher appeal to players.Braziliance said:

If we were seeing rivals strengthening all around us I'd be more concerned but I'm not overly worried yet. Once the cup game is out of the way I hope things will start moving.2 -
Yeah and a lot of the movement I'm seeing (and I am by no means exhaustive) is players being recalled from Loans/sent out on new loans. These things just never move as fast as would be ideal. Right now we're at the mercy of selling/loaning clubs.thenewbie said:

I think we only need to do one thing to stay in this division, and I emphasize stay, not prosper. That is to get a fit defensive back 6. Our bad run began and continued with the absences of Bell, Burke and Ramsay. This led to having to play TC, Apter and even Hernandez in defence -alongside Gillesphey, in most cases. None of them remotely up to it.
We can get by with our existing (and improving) strikers and our midfield, but not with a crap defence.
Sort this out and we will survive. Fail, and it won't matter what the rest of the team do, we will go down.18
