Mansfield are winning at Sheffield United.
That affects us because if Sheffield Utd win, we can play their scheduled opponents Portsmouth on Feb 14th. If Sheffield United lose, we have no game that weekend and Portsmouth likely goes midweek.2 -
Sheff Utd have equalised now. Dan Kanu's Walsall are currently 1-0 2-0 down at Norwich.RedPanda said:Mansfield are winning at Sheffield United.

Arsenal now 3-1 up, but Sheff Utd 2-1 down at half time. Come on Wilder, pull your finger out!0

Has a team ever scored as many goals from corners in a season as Arsenal?
Their returns from set pieces is unreal0 -
4-1 now. Come on. Still time for double figures

Barely played the season before, always injured.swords_alive said:What a player this Reece Oates is at Mansfield. Scores their 4th.
Scored 7 in 17 this season so far before today, but not exactly prolific in his career so far0 -
Sheffield utd score 2 quick goals now 3 40

Pompey getting the same treatment.
When we went up in 98, it was possible for hard work and a sprinkling of quality to get you promoted, and then you had a good chance of surviving. But the game has totally changed. They’ve let money rule and it’s killed hope.
I think I’d be happy being a well run Championship team. I reckon that’s about as good as it gets for us.
I think anything more is fantasy, unless we get minted owners. And even then we’d be miles not light years away from the top teams. Depressing.4 -
Woah, cracking goal from Walsall's Courtney Clarke to make it 4-1.0
-
Agree to a certain point then you look at Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth who’ve done it through an amazing conveyor belt of buying untapped talent. It still blows my mind that Brentford are where they are. They were smaller than Leyton Orient 20 years ago.Valley11 said:Pompey getting the same treatment.

But they got in ‘the club’ before the gap really widened. The gap is just too big now.1

The Prem almost feels like a different sport nowadays. The money needed to stay up is astronomical, average squad players are now £20m at least. I'd take 5+ years being solid in the Champ and flirting with the playoffs over one year getting slapped around in the PL even if the money would set the club up for years.
The turkey's are never going to vote for Christmas so you'll never get anything that pegs back the Big 6 and the relegated clubs will just yo-yo.2 -

Sheffield United lost so I don't think we have a game on 14/2.
Portsmouth fans are complaining about injuries to their last 2 available wingers today. They sound as injury stricken as us.0 -
Man Utd beaten at home which means they've gone out of both cups at the first hurdle.
Last season they played 22 cup games, this season 2.5 -
Big cut in their income stream and chances of Europe next season receding.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Man Utd beaten at home which means they've gone out of both cups at the first hurdle.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.1 -

United have fallen at the first hurdle in both domestic cup competitions for the first time since 1981-82. They are condemned to a 40-game season, the fewest they have played since 1914-15.
The world's oldest person, 116-year-old Ethel Caterham, was five at the time, so even she probably doesn't remember it.1 -
they won the cup, fair play, then proceeded to 1) fuck up the celebrations / open top bus thing 2) fucked up the european competition entry thing 3) fucked up retaining it at the first hurdle - quite an achievement

Who are the big 6 and what were their finishing positions last season ?0
