That had been moved forward to 12:30 by Sky. How will they cope without us being on to attract the viewers?

Great. I'm back in the UK that weekend, and partly chose it as there's a Charlton game on offer.

Yep, who lost in the cup today unfortunately so both games to be rearranged will be midweek under the lights.

Damn, I  could have had 4 weeks instead of 3 in Tenerife. Knowing my luck, it'll be rescheduled to the midweek before

Someone I know also pointed out we are hone to Brum and Bristol City on 5th and 6th round day. Potentially a lot of Tuesday night games incoming.

Is it possible they move another midweek game like Boro away with both teams
    out?

    Yeah, a shame.

Pompey lost to Arsenal so if Sheff Utd had beaten Mansfield it might have been possible to play that weekend as we would both be free.

Unfortunately the Blades got done at home by Mansfield so Pompey v Sheff Utd will stay put on the 14th.

I doubt it. Don’t think there’s any kind of history of that happening.

Edit: Boro are playing Cov that weekend anyway - who got knocked out so Cov v Boro wouldn’t be moved for a later midweek fixture.

I think you’re right but then I do vaguely recall/ have in my head a similar scenario in recent years happening to us in L1 but I might be imagining it

surely both clubs would rather play a fixture on a free Saturday spread between 2 other matches but whether the league / TV companies would agree I don’t know - to be fair it would make sense for Sky too as they will have no live football that weekend but could screen that instead

It made sense until I noticed Boro are scheduled away at Coventry that weekend. They won’t move that fixture for us.

I think others like West Brom (A) have similar conflicts as well.

Are games ever voluntarily moved forwards?

Apart from fans who have already booked trains or hotels, the clubs will have already sold hospitality for that exact date.

Look on the bright side, better to have it at home than another cold night in Stoke.

Am over for a couple of weeks in Feb and was planning on QPR and Stoke. Not happy! Though, if QPR had won today that’d be off too and I’d be fumin’.

From the Championship, 11 teams progressed to round four: Oxford, Wrexham, Leicester, Stoke, Ipswich, Southampton, Bristol City, Birmingham, Hull, West Brom and Norwich all made it through round 3.

Means the only Championship games that will be played the weekend of the 14th are:

    - Sheff Wed v Millwall
    - Preston v Watford
    - QPR v Blackburn
    - Derby v Swansea
    - Portsmouth v Sheff Utd
    - Coventry v Boro

While the following six will be postponed:

    - Bristol City v Wrexham
    - Oxford v Norwich
    - Charlton v Stoke
    - Birmingham v West Brom
    - Leicester v Southampton
    - Ipswich v Hull

The only Championship team who weren't scheduled against someone who also lost and therefore won’t be playing in either the league or the cup that weekend are:

    - Charlton

No one is moving that Boro game away.  Anyone planning to go to that needs chastising for opting in for a Wednesday night in early March.  Still cold, getting home at 4am on Thursday - that’s real punishment and those that choose it must suffer

Practically speaking, the TV could of had Coventry or Boro Cup game on a Friday (then the league game is Monday)

Excellent news - that's when the Dartford junction track works start so let's hope the club see sense and keep that Saturday and the following 8 days clear.

Anyone reckon we'll get that Bristol City postponed (if they make the Quarters)?

Getting too far ahead at this point in time IMO.

It’s less of a worry than Birmingham getting a favourable 4th round draw and being favourites for a 5th round tie on the weekend we’re due to play them (7th March).
  • Nathan should start planning to take the squad away to somewhere sunny for a few days, (re)set them up for the rest of the season.
