RIP Alan Chapman. Today we say goodbye to a massive Addick
Alan Chapman passed away the day before Headphones Norm, following a short and very aggressive battle with Liver cancer
He was more than just an Addick, he was an employee and colleague for the last 15 years and we became really good friends. We used to meet up at Sparrows Lane and watch the youth teams or at Dartford to watch the U21's and U18's.
A retired Met Police officer and one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet who would do anything for anyone. Going to work isn't the same without him there. Being at a Charlton event without him isn't the same. The golf days we did where he was like a kid in a sweetshop around former Charlton players won't ever be the same. He even took me to a couple of my hospital appointments in September 2025 when I was falling apart. He is genuinely missed by many, especially me and my father, with whom he worked so closely.
Alan will be cremated today, 12th Jan 2026, at Falconwood. I'm dreading it and i'm already in a bit of a state.
At the request of his wife and son I am sharing a link to the JustGiving page for his chosen charity - British Liver Trust. Just in case anyone knew of him and wanted to donate
Alan will be cremated today, 12th Jan 2026, at Falconwood

Oh gosh, what dreadfully sad news. I remember Alan from back in the day. He was one of the lads that i used to stand with in the covered end before he joined the Met. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. RIP Alan3

Had only got to know him about a year or so back.
A very lively and friendly character, one of those kind of people if he was in the room with you, you certainly knew it. He would be here there and everywhere buzzing around continuously spreading good vibes to one and all.
Sat on the same table with him at Wembley recently and had absolutely no idea whatsoever that he was so ill……you’d never have guessed it in a million years.
Hard to believe he succumbed so quickly.
Fuck cancer.😥
RIP…..Alan…..RIP.
