Stuck this on the non Charlton thread but I wonder if we have any interest in Villa's young LWB Finlay Munroe who they've just recalled from Swindon.
    Good shout

    Right, who's next?
A LWB and Bree by the weekend would be nice
I’m told there will be 3 plus bree in total this window - so assuming scanlon, who’s the other lucky chap ? I’d go for a powerhouse box to box midfielder assuming Godden is still on course
I’m expecting a striker after Fofana fell through and we’ve been linked with Dykes.

I think we’d probably all like a CM but can see it being like last January when Jones was happy with what we had there.
I think Godden green light and Leaburn’s week on week improvement might just switch things to midfield but only guessing obvs

Or maybe a LCB or maybe both or all 3 if the right deals can be done 🤷‍♂️

Scanlon, Dykes, Bree signed/extended and a LCB is my guess.

Scanlon and Dykes are almost certainly loans, Bree will be a nominal fee, so I'd like to see us spend money on a LCB if possible.

Of course i'd also want a central midfielder in to compete with Coventry and Docherty but that's too much to ask in Jan
LCB is usually a very difficult position to shop for, and quite pricey. I think it’s unlikely we’d be able to sign one permanently this month. It’s probably one for the summer, Bell and Gillesphey should be fine to see us till then
Not if Bell tore his hamstring, that's 3 months out minimum
Thinking the same unfortunately, and if it’s not as bad as that, how many more games will we get out of him anyway, it’s clear Macca is struggling at this level.
Is he .. funny when things not going right people go back to number one target … even through he not been responsible for any goal against us unlike Carey and Campbell for example ?
What you talking about you plonker!! Rodney Moore!! I stuck up for you the other day!! I must be the plonker!!

Is it any different to Campbell being your number one target?

Campbell is also much more likely to be playing Championship football in the next few seasons than Gillesphey.
The irony is that I like Macca, but we have to be honest and he’s struggled of late.

If he tore his hammy, he would have been stretched off, hopefully just tight and will be ok...🤞🙏

I am no expert but from the way he was hobbling off it didn't look good.
None of us are experts my friend, that's what makes this thread so open...at times...🤦‍♂️

Scoham, Ronnie's comment is ridiculous, please don't give him the pleasure. He gave Campbell 4 against Chelsea, then he comes out with that old shit, just ignore him.
How many would you give him at fault for the second and again 2/3 opportunities to create but failed .. only 2 assists all season if your happy with that then fine…

Have liked Adam Phillips the CM that scored their goal for a few seasons. Really tidy player that I'm surprised hasn't stepped up a league.

It is odd we heard rumour of Scanlon a while ago and Clarke has come relatively out of the blue and a lot quicker. Maybe something happens with Scanlon after Liverpool's FA Cup game tonight but wouldn't be surprised if we were looking elsewhere

Boro having quite an interesting window if they add him to Castledine.

I think he would be a great addition to our forward line, the type of profile that we don’t really have. I can see why some people wouldn’t want him but for a side like us I think he would be a tidy addition. Fingers crossed it gets over the line.

He's signed to Barnsley on a 3 year deal, apparently Blackburn had a bid for him rejected 6 figures according to other place.

He's not going to produce a flood of goals, and he's not Dutch.

Finlay Munroe only costing around £350k plus a sell on clause. Well within our price range on the fee at least.

Decent pace, work rate, aggression etc in FM so fits the NJ mould.

I'd hope we are interested, but can't imagine we can compete with those teams on wages

Should be able to blow them away if they're just trying to out do each other at that price level. He gets to come back London. First team football if he buys in to Jones project. Lots of running up and down the pitch,  etc etc. Do we still have that flat on the Thames to sweeten a deal?

    Personally I'd go to Bristol
