That Jerk Chicken stand caused a lot of the problem
It takes up way too much space. It's great to have properly cooked food, but we don't have the space for that large bbq area.

    That concourse photograph is frightening.
Tbh, I would expect it to be exactly the same in the Lower West and in the Covered End for when the stands are full (others in those stands please correct my if not the case).

As I’ve said before, I really think we have 27,000 seats but not the facilities and footprint in certain areas to support that without massive discomfort or issues.

I don’t know why it is different to the prem days, but it is.
Not sure it is very different.

It was always big queues to get served but now perhaps some of the offerings  / number of choices are different and maybe longer to serve - even if staff up to it? I’d say however it’s all part of the monetisation of football - any opportunity to sell something it feels.

The additional ‘club shop’ used to exist without issue on the slope up to the concourse but maybe that area is judged to be too far from people taking / leaving seats to attract people to buy food and drinks ?

Has anyone had the jerk chicken and is it any good? Is it just chicken or do they do other west Indian dishes?

Never thought I would be asking this question in relation to catering at the valley..
  • Just going to say that I think that the bagel stand is really good, altho at £9.50 for a salt beef bagel, am not sure how many they sell, even if it is great.. The crush vs Chelsea was unlike anything I've witnessed at The Valley (or can remember at least...).. Definitely didn't feel safe...

My season ticket was in the West Upper during the Premier League days, thus I do not know how the congestion last week was compared to those days.
I'm certain a few can give their thoughts on here.

:-) No...didn't have the jerk in the end...got a sample, didn't like it...so had a burrito instead....had been to the pub beforehand, as way of explanation for my appetite....
