Winter-January 2026 Transfer Window Rumours ...

JRS and TC are good mates. We simply cannot afford Jes Rak Sakyi on a permanent and I'd be surprised if a loan deal were possible as his wages are probably high.
Common sense would say "take a pay cut, play regularly and get your value back to where we know it can be" but there is always a club prepapred to pay more in wages so players tend not to decrease their demands.4 -
Also he wouldn't play here because he doesn't fit into the formation and we already have one winger sitting on the bench every game7
-
Gallen also had no idea of who Ellis Simms was back when I mentioned it to him.Swisdom said:We could have had Imray a couple of years ago but Mr Gallen wasn't interested.
Blackpool fans adore him and he would be a very decent capture.
He might be a great negotiator with good contacts , I don’t think his talent identification is particularly good.7 -
Part of me just hopes JRS signs for a club already so we can stop this fairytale talk. Would think people have never watched NJ ball over the last 18 months and have zero understanding of the tactical side of the game. We have one talented promising young winger on the bench who doesn’t fit the system why on earth would we sign another9
-
JRS would be a great signing as he could be scapegoated exactly like TC is, spreading the load off poor Tyreece and giving Ronnie a new picture to add to his dartboard16
-
Has anyone mentioned JRS?1
-
It’s obvious he’s not going to come to us, when he was here it was a very different club, different manager different owners, mostly different team. He currently does not fit in the team with our formation it would be a waste of funds if we got him in and didn’t alter our play style. No chance he’s on the cards1

Seriously… not a bloody chance. He is by far the worse finisher I have seen in a charlton shirt in a long time. He has a little bit of pace yes. He has also bottled or not bothered to follow his man on a number occasions this season that has cost us goals..RonnieMoore said:
Agreed … Tanto should have started a lot more gamesCL_Phantom said:Scoham said:NJ told Richard Cawley that Tanto won’t be leaving.
Ridiculous to even think he was tbh.
Godden is only just about to return from a big injury and having not played all season, at 34 who knows how he'll hold up and if Leaburn was to pick up another of his long term injuries we're then relying on Kelman, Dykes and the wingerforwardback TC.
He might not be up to the standard long term but Tanto has shown his worth to the squad in patches.
if Leaburn or Campbell they would get hammered. Tanto gets away with a lot!!4 -
Come on JRS, just take a small pay cut and enjoy the chance to learn a new position. You might not get that opportunity anywhere else!2

He is twenty six years of age, I think, if he doesn't take on board what's required at this level then he is only going one way, backwards, that's not to say that he can't but he is very near his prime and needs to learn and quickly. Dubai is right, people on here were crying out for him to replace Campbell, not a chance, Tyreece has four years on Tanto and is a level above.DubaiCAFC said:

Loan Rak-Sakyi, let Olaofe go out on loan would be my suggestion4

Nathan Jones rubbing his hands together at the thought of turning JRS into a LWB19

I have no idea on how reliable sportsboom is and it does kinda feel like a throw in an ex club situation but I can't help getting a little bit excited even if realistically there's no chance.3

It’s as bad as the Tom Lawrence is Welsh and so is Nathan Jones so he might look to sign him articleMarcusH26 said:I have no idea on how reliable sportsboom is and it does kinda feel like a throw in an ex club situation but I can't help getting a little bit excited even if realistically there's no chance.4 -
and only went down by goal difference, it was tight as anything, let's not act like it was by a landslide. The window would have helped them.Callumcafc said:

Or staying up as they've invested in a critical window....Diebythesword said:Oxford a spending money left right and centre. Desperate times for them. Can see them having back to back relegations
I wouldn't want to be in Oxfords position, but I would prefer the window they are having, especially if they do manage to sign Savage & McDonnell.
Pompey also signing Ebou Adams. These are decent signings from our relegation rivals.
Our midfield needs addressing this window, it's bloody hopeless. Might be the worst in the whole league.6 -

On this day last year (16th Jan 2025) they were 20th and they finished in 22nd. It’s debatable that their January window helped them…Braziliance said:

Our midfield was the main reason we got 23 points .. Coventry been outstanding so has Doc and since he been left out there are gapping holes in our midfield .. Carey scoring goals .. should never have been moved back , it ruined him and he was responsible for a number of goals against us .. Knibbs would start in any other team , excellent signing Costello finally got a sniff suddenly fans are saying where he been all season …Braziliance said:

I don’t know about that. If anything our strong defensive structure at the beginning of the season is the reason why we started so strongly and once that fell apart it’s no coincidence we started dropping down the table. Not saying players in our midfield haven’t had solid games this season but as a whole it is definitely the worst midfield in the championship and nobody even seems to be able to pick a pass but JRC. It won’t get addressed in this window but a CM absolutely should be a priority in the summer window.RonnieMoore said:

Is this like last January when we had no chance of going up if we didn't sign a whole host of players? Or different to that?Braziliance said:

He got us promoted with a transfer window and has Millwall in 5th. I'd say he is ok at spotting a player. He probably focuses his efforts on ones his employer can afford and realistically get at that time though (which is sensible).0 -
Good enough to take Caleb Taylor to Millwall, the guy would have been a better option than Burke.1

It astounds me that you are allowed to post on here while Acworth is banned.RonnieMoore said:
