To be fair it isn’t the same people on the whole. There were a lot of us who just acknowledged he was in poor form, probably carrying an injury and has slowly been getting better. He was good against Chelsea and Blackburn and we’ve started scoring from set pieces again because his delivery has improved
That’s fair. Some like me were saying he was horribly out of form and likely playing with pain, but on his day was an excellent player at this level.

Some though who I see are now angry at him leaving called him shit.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him back here at the end of the window though. Southampton in a bit of a bind because they can’t throw him into a game to see where he fits and then evaluates as then no one else can take him if they don’t like how he fits back in. Couple of weeks training there before returning is my hope/guess

Southampton want to take a look at him .. before deciding his future can see him being released .. but we did want to keep him but it’s solely down to him being recalled …

I guess my gripe with it a bit is Eckert could have recalled him Jan 1st , played him for a couple of games inc FA Cup and then sent him back this week.

Probably wasn’t a January recall clause included in a loan that ends on the 17th of January

I think bree has been playing with that groin issue for a while. He couldn’t take set pieces in one of the games yet he was back the following week.
    Coincided with his drop off

If by some miracle we did get Rak-Sakyi, it's take a big change of game plan, but a front 3 with Campbell and JRS either side would scare the shit out of defenders

On the basis that Bree isn’t our player & we don’t have any fit LWBs, there couldn’t be a more suitable time to scrap wing backs (rather than play people out of position) & move to 3 up front.

With Bree going back and Z Mitchell not playing for Hibs maybe Clarke will actually be out RWB and Z Mitchell is used as the RCB cover

Mate I know needs must and all that, but there was a reason Zach went on loan. The way things are going with injuries he won’t be cover for long and with respect he’s not up to starting in the championship yet.

Not literally, it’s called hyperbole/paraphrasing. Obviously people weren’t calling him that.

    It’s called exaggeration for effect.

I’m sad that I’ve had to explain that to you

    Fucking hell really?

ok, I fully retract my statement suggesting people were saying he was the worst right back in the league.

I replace it with ‘people were saying he was useless and to send him back and he wasn’t up to championship standard’

I don’t disagree with what you are saying but surely Mitchell is better than gough? I know the solution is to sign experienced and match ready championship quality but if we need a youngster to sit on the bench, surely it’s Mitchell?

Who knows but Gough has barely put a foot wrong when he's played so I'd favour him at the moment.

Well I can't see how it isn't, no-one said it but you decided to say "some on here" said it, and when challenged you've immediately backtracked, so it's a lie.

Sad that I've had to explain that to you

Thought Gough has done ok to be fair, couldn’t honestly say if one is better than the other.

This is where I’m at too. We haven’t really seen Mitchell play in a side as strong as Gough has so it’s hard to judge
