Wow, really surprised by that. I still don't see how he fits in here but I'd love to see him sign again7

Shelvey no doubt gave him good advice on how to spend his leisure time.

Just bring him home. He’s best mates with TC and Leaburn. They’ll thrive together. He’s clearly not wanted by Palace and clearly suits being near home.

I was expecting his career to move on rapidly after leaving us.Am surprised he's not with a Premier League club and beginning to establish himself.7

With rumours of interest in Fatawu I wonder if he goes to Leicester?3

So how would he fit in to Jones style of football? What position would he play? Be interested to understand, why JRS would also be interested in playing as a wing back

Well he wouldn't really. He could play the TC striker/winger role and maybe as a very attacking no 10 but really he wouldn't fit the systemDubaiCAFC said:So how would he fit in to Jones style of football? If Jones likes game changers then he's a ready made game changer who does it during the game and not from the bench. If there's a chance to get him surely he's an improvement on most of our players but of course the system and grinding out results will be leveled at that.2

I know it’s a dream and is probably too luxury a player but in our current system he’s most suited to being a number 10 behind the front two. But I accept that there would be games we’d need more solidity.DubaiCAFC said:So how would he fit in to Jones style of football? What position would he play? Cawley giveth... Cawley taketh away17

would he take a pay cut to play alongside TC
2 -
A 4-2-3-1 with an attacking three of TC, Carey, and JRS would be very exciting behind Leaburn/Kelman.
That being said, we're not set up to play 4-2-3-1 at the back. And that team would probably be too open for Jones' liking.
Plus it's obviously a no go with what Cawley said.
Oh well, we'll always have his season on loan with us to remember him fondly by.0 -
Could argue he’s a good enough player to change the system for. Probably only worth doing that if he’s a permanent though, which I’d imagine is well out of our price rangeDubaiCAFC said:So how would he fit in to Jones style of football? If we have any aspirations of returning to the Premier League in the new few seasons, he is exactly the type of player we should be trying to sign, first on loan, then converting to a permanent.
We know he'd feel at home, and he's probably never going to be cheaper whilst still in his prime
Once, hopefully if, we achieve safety, we will need to start playing better, more expansive football if we are to progress, by signing higher quality players.
Going forward, we should be looking beyond mere survival.4 -

2026 Summer Transfer Window we need to think like this, and I think we should be evaluate these type of moves then.RC_CAFC said:Just bring him home. He’s best mates with TC and Leaburn. Glasner will also be out, so don't be so sure he is unwanted at Palace. A new manager will bring fresh ideas.Example: Gilbert was not making the team at Borough, and is now playing for them under their new manager. From the reports Bree is going to get another chance at Southampton when he goes back.I have always though JRS as Palace's insurance policy (if they go down) and hot prospect for them moving forward. He is contracted there (Palace) till 2027, so there is time.

Hopefully we manage to stay up , summer 2026 window will be rather interesting if we do. Possibly start to look at signings from Europe and that next tier of established championship talent as opposed to the best of League 1.queensland_addick said:If we have any aspirations of returning to the Premier League in the new few seasons, he is exactly the type of player we should be trying to sign, first on loan, then converting to a permanent.

What I will say pretty much definitely, the club transfer record will have to be broken after 20 odd years if we don't want to stand still.1 -
Blades fans loved him last season. 7 goals in 35 in the league, a hatful of assists and part of a really good team. In conclusion, he will make a difference to a team at this level. Probably won’t be us though…0

Not a single chance people should just stop entertaining the idea4

With their thin squad and Europeanfootball, it still confuses me why Palace keep loaning him out. They've been desperately short of backup players this season.4
