He looks to me like he needs experience at this level, lets give him 1 year at least! He is still young.
for me he has the most championship level athleticism of all our centre mids and therefore potential. Some of our midfielders get out run at this level.

If only Karoy, after a moment of intense involvement, could learn to be better with the ball he releases, I dunno take a breath or something he would improve. I think he puts himself off his game because he gets over excited

You can teach/coach a player with good technical and passing skills how to be more physical and intense in a press much easier than you can teach an athletically gifted player how to be a varied passer and technician.

I do think Anderson has got a place in the squad, but it's probably not as a starting player and it's definitely not as a defensive midfielder in the Coventry role.
Is that the right way to look at it though? Anderson has the energy and physicality to be a box to box midfielder in a Nathan Jones Championship side. At the moment he lacks consistency, tactically and technically.

There are no doubt CMs in lower divisions with more technical ability and creativity, but they either lack physically and/or the work rate and aggression to play in the Championship.

Average players can go far with commitment on and off the pitch. Not many skilful players who lacks that commitment play consistently play at the higher levels.

If players have physical or technical limitations they’re unlikely to completely change as a player at say 25. But a committed player can become better tactically with experience and improve their consistency - we’ve seen that ourselves with Lloyd Jones, he’s now a very good and reliable Championship CB. Two years ago he was probably seen as a solid L1 player who some thought might have room to improve.

Ideally we’ll continue improving our squad every window, and then Anderson will either have to keep up the pace to remain as part of the squad, or move on to find regular football.

A loan might even still be an option this season, but I think we’d need to make a CM signing ourselves for him to be allowed to go.
