Winter-January 2026 Transfer Window Rumours ...

I'm expecting a player in before the weekend based on Nathans comments last night even though Saturday really is a true free hit.
Sadly it's also probably true that clubs won't be that keen on sending a young prospect into a relegation scrap much like we saw when Gallagher was sent to Swansea instead.sirjohnhumphrey said:I do wonder if initially with Edwards due back at some point, other clubs were reluctant to send us one of their assets who may ultimately sit on the bench once Edwards returned.
We may be in a position to guarantee any player coming in on loan a guaranteed spot for the season which may be more appealing to other clubs now.

Just read a rumour linking us with a young Swiss LB called Junior Ligue.
England-Klub bei FCZ-Verteidiger Junior Ligue in der Pole Position
Extract below:
"According to information from 4-4-2.ch, there is concrete interest in Ligue from England. Charlton Athletic made its second offer for Ligue on Wednesday.Between the two clubs, it is heard, there are still some details to be clarified. So as of now, there can be no talk of a transfer agreement. Charlton would like to bring Ligue to the English island on loan – a purchase option (obligation) is almost certainly part of the deal."

Junior Ligue is a great name!!7

Yeah... Confused... Looks like the games he's played as an Attacker were for Zurich U21s, so wonder if he's converted to a Full-Back since making the jump to the first teamWould certainly be an attack minded Wing-Back down the Left you'd expect6

20 y/o Swiss left wing back.He played 28 times (33 games a season in Switzerland) in the Swiss top flight last year but only 9 times (out of 20) so far this season.4

Strange, TransferMarket says he's a LB. 🤔AberystwythAddick said:.
He’s a sodding striker, how are even the most lazy journalists not linking us to a single left back0 -
Apparently the way to solve playing a young forward at left wing back (TC) is to... sign a different young forward to play at LWB instead.ForeverAddickted said:MarcusH26 said:Junior Ligue is a great name!!Wonder when he'll be ready for an Adult LeagueWiki says he's a Forward, but TransferMarkt says he's a Left-Back, but has apparently played 69-games as a Striker and 17-games as a Left-Back, so... But of those games, he played a Striker, just one of them was for the Zurich First Team
For the Zurich First Team, he's played mainly as a Striker, so a possible TC example

I'm confused, did he play CF for their U21s and then got converted to LWB with the first team or something?1

Here’s a separate article on him from two days ago, translated by ChatGPT…https://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/superleague/millionen-segen-fuer-den-klub-fcz-eigengewaechs-kurz-vor-dem-abgang-id21611290.html
FC Zurich: Junior Ligue is on the verge of leaving
Millions’ blessing for the club?
FCZ academy product close to departure
Most recently, he was no longer allowed to train with the team. In Geneva, Junior Ligue is missing because FC Zurich has released him to hold transfer talks.

Considered an exciting talent since being retrained from striker to left-back: Junior Ligue.

His time at FC Zurich is nearing its end. During his time with the first team, he repeatedly had disciplinary problems.

What this is about
- Junior Ligue could leave FC Zurich and is currently in transfer talks
- FCZ coach emphasizes consequences when behavior disrupts team harmony
- Ligue’s transfer value is estimated at between 3 and 5 million Swiss francs
The time of Junior Ligue (20) at FC Zurich appears to be coming to an end. The defender is in talks over a move and could leave the club during this transfer window. Ligue missed Sunday’s 1–1 draw against Servette because he had been released for transfer negotiations.
Ligue was recently excluded from training with the squad because those responsible were unhappy with his behavior. In this context, FCZ coach Dennis Hediger said in a Blick interview:
“Carlo Ancelotti says rules are like a balloon: elastic until it bursts. As long as the team understands a player like that, it will support him. The moment we feel someone is disturbing the group, it’s either a transfer or he trains separately.”
In April, Ligue was suspended internally
This is not the first time Ligue has been hit by internal disciplinary measures. In April, he missed several matches after an incident in the dressing room involving then sporting director Milos Malenovic (40). Shortly before that, Ligue changed agents: away from the former Malenovic agency, and to a new representative. Malenovic said about the measure:
“No one is bigger than the team. Sometimes we have to take action so players understand what it takes for a big career.”
That career now looks set to continue at another club. FCZ’s homegrown player only extended his contract with Zurich in March 2025 through to summer 2030. That is likely to drive up his transfer fee.
The former striker has fueled excitement since converting to left-back thanks to his pace. His current transfer value is estimated at between three and five million Swiss francs—assuming a club is convinced that Ligue will have fewer issues with punctuality at training there than he did in Zurich.

Didn't Saka start out his Arsenal career as a Left Wing-Back? - Same with Lewis-Skelley there? - Not doing any comparison of course, but yeah its a really weird scenario with him.1

Internal disciplinary issues isn't something NJ would stand for , would hope we've done our homework that it's just an agent sticking their oar in and there's nothing to worry about him character wise as a player.5
-
Look on the brightside... We're ACTUALLY linked with someone who we, think, might, possibly, slim chance be able to play Left-Back - Feels like a Chapple scouted type signing though.2
-
That article puts a 3-5 million Swiss franc price tag on him.
That converts almost 1:1 with GBP - £2.8m to £4.7m.

Listed as a defender on FC Zurich website...

Why do people keep referring to the Millwall game as a free hit. No game is a free hit. Every game is worth the same three points. I really don’t get it.33

Same article says they gave him a new 5 year contract only 10 months ago so they must rate him highly in spite of that.MarcusH26 said:Internal disciplinary issues isn't something NJ would stand for , would hope we've done our homework that it's just an agent sticking their oar in and there's nothing to worry about him character wise as a player.

So is he called Junior Ligue or that's what he plays in?5

Asking for a 5ft 61/2 friend if that is considered being a shrimp? Because since I read this post, I mean since I told that friend, he’s got a bit of a complex about it!!😂ForeverAddickted said:He's 6ft1in as well then, so isnt a shrimp2 -
