Winter-January 2026 Transfer Window Rumours ...

Didn't Cawley mention on Saturdays podcast that an agent had said Sheffield United had an ad for a midfielder on there and they were looking at £300kpm on wages? Makes sense as a system for clubs.fenaddick said:
Not sure if it's a feature on Wyscout or not but lots of clubs use Transfer room to advertise what they're looking for and bedgetswords_alive said:
Probably true and it can't be a secret that we are short there. Wondering if the scouting apps, like Wyscout, have 'wants' from clubs or agents to act on wants, or is it just players available for clubs to go after?fenaddick said:I'm filing this away with the Bosnian striker rumour, our name just being used by agents because we have a hole there in our squad
Looking at https://www.hudl.com/en_gb/products/wyscout
-seems it's a growing industry with video analysts worldwide.
TIA @Swisdom if any comment on state of scouting today and what CAFC actually use, if you feel able to comment?

Because our midfield was passable when we had a settled, solid defence. We were 5th at one point with a midfield of Coventry, Docherty and Carey because we just didn’t concede. I’d like a better centre mid in as well but fixing the defence is the priorityRuffdiamond said:People on here are obsessed with the LWB but we need a midfield that is good enough for this league , there’s no vision to light in the tackle .11 -

Wyscout is a massive database that pulls in agent info, contract expiries and values from Transfermarkt. It also has a shed load of stats and a really powerful search facility depending on your filters.fenaddick said:

There is a module for clubs to put their requirements which I used to have access to but then Wyscout got bought out by Hudl and the prices went silly.
Best of all is the ability to get a load of highlights of most players for various parameters (goals, assists, key passes, defeding duels etc) but they too are painfully expensive now. I not get 75 minutes of clips a month of clips and all the data i can look at but it's about £100 a month and I'm looking at alternatives for next season.
Transferroom is, im told, pretty good, but they charge horrific amounts of money to use it and once you start representing more players, they then bump the prices. I know a guy who represents his two sons (one of whom is at Charlton). He got Transferroom in 2024 and ended up paying £20k for a 3 year contract (they don't like people signing up for short-term contracts. It's better suited to larger entities or clubs who can put in what they need and a rough nudget. I did pay for some output from someone who worked there but the data wasn't especially well laid out and was out of date. So I wasted £300 with some scumbag scammer basically to provide me with some crap screenshots off his phone.6 -
No we don't, he's yet another right sided centre back, and not a particularly good one at thatLincsaddick said:We need to recall Alex Mitchell, IF the loan deal allows6 -
Apter was decent going forward but he's always struggled defensively, which is why he has barely played in the last few months. He did an okay job defensively against Oxford who were the worst team I have seen this season.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Tanto yes but i disagree on Apter. Looked decent enough early on in the season then was bombed out. Came back into the side in an unfamiliar position at home to Oxford, did reasonably well (in my opinion) and then got bombed out again. Not really seen anything to say he's not good enough, but it's clear Jones doesn't like him for some reason.stjohnshill said:Tanto and Apter looking increasingly likely to go out on loan. Both aren't good enough at the moment so I think this is good business
I feel for Apter. Edwards injury hasn't help his cause, whilst the formation we play doesn't play to his strengths so I am unsure why we even signed him if we were always going to play 3-5-2. Its best if he goes out on loan and plays. It only fair on the lad who's young and needs game time5 -
And there’s no way Stoke or Celtic are paying out £8m for him either.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Last i read was that Stoke and Celtic were interested but Palace wanted an obligation to buy for 8m inserted into any loan deal agreement, so there's no way we'll get him.mart77 said:If we can get JRS in then we 100% should. He’s streets ahead of the vast majority of our squad and every squad needs the best quality players they can get. That’s not to say that we don’t need a LB/LWB too.4 -
Wilder isn't responding to my email. I'm more of a 9 but i'll take a pay cut and play as a 10 if neededMarcusH26 said:

Millwall should never, ever be classed as a free hit, irrespective of how embarrassing we are against them. Just for once I'd love us to actually turn up and kick them all over the pitch. Maybe my future great grandchildren will see this happen.DDOUBLEE said:
Because if we couldn't beat them in previous seasons when we had better teams, then there's not a chance in hell we're beating them Saturday.LargeAddick said:Why do people keep referring to the Millwall game as a free hit. No game is a free hit. Every game is worth the same three points. I really don’t get it.This.
Free hit?? Fuck that - I will be fuming if we turn up with that attitude. Never mind the fact we lost in a winnable game so we have to get the points elsewhere now. As Sheff Utd proved sometimes you win games you don’t expect to.
I want to go there and absolutely go charging in at them all over the park from the first whistle.
Wont happen and we will likely roll over to have our tummy’s tickled but you go there with the right attitude.6 -
From a Cawley article in early Dec:
Asked if that meant the Addicks needed to move swiftly from January 1, when the transfer window opens, Jones said: “Yes, we are and that is all ongoing.
“We always try to move quickly - we are very rarely scrambling and scratching our heads and then taking someone late in the window. That is not us. We are always very organised and identify the personnel - then we go from there.
It's not really a personal view to now say we failed to deliver on those words?4 -
We can be as prepared as possible and have everything lined up from our perspective....but it only take a club to get another bid (upon hearing a player might be available) or an injury somewhere in the chain and it all goes to shit.24

It sure does, but to get out of a dire situation you need to stretch yourself and realise the importance and act as soon as possible.Swisdom said:We can be as prepared as possible and have everything lined up from our perspective....but it only take a club to get another bid (upon hearing a player might be available) or an injury somewhere in the chain and it all goes to shit.1 -
Especially in January where it feels like you spend most of the window waiting for someone else's deals to happen to then allow a player out on loan. I still think we'll get stuff done but it's a window I'd rather not be going into needing a key starter. I like Dykes and Clarke as champ experienced pieces hopefully we've got some left sided versions of them lined up and then Ligue as a wildcard.Swisdom said:We can be as prepared as possible and have everything lined up from our perspective....but it only take a club to get another bid (upon hearing a player might be available) or an injury somewhere in the chain and it all goes to shit.1 -

Like you say, he's either the Bosnian lad, or he's a secondary aspect for the position, as we really need two of themMarcusH26 said:
I would be surprised if it's the lad from Zurich though. Would expect it to be a domestic target21cws said:Asked Cawley on Substack about an LB being in before Saturday and he replied “yeah it would seem likely”0 -
