Jimmy’s Day
worthy of its own thread. Something that goes beyond our football teams. The Mizen family are inspirational people. Details below and please give generously (hopefully the collections will be at the away end as well)
CHARLTON PROUDLY SUPPORT SATURDAY'S…Charlton Athletic will proudly support Millwall’s annual ‘Jimmy’s Day’ activities at this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship’s fixture between the two sides (KO 12.30pm GMT).
Millwall fan Jimmy Mizen was tragically murdered in an unprovoked attack in 2008 in Lee, London, aged just 16.
Following his death, his family have dedicated their lives to working for peace in his memory.
The Mizens have since shared Jimmy’s story in schools, churches, prisons and workplaces; their message of forgiveness, peace and hope impacting the lives of countless people and inspiring many to build safer, more peaceful communities.
Before kick-off on Saturday, Charlton and Millwall players will wear 'Mizen Foundation' t-shirts to warm-up in.
Bucket collections will be held around the ground prior to kick-off at Saturday's game, whilst family members will also address the crowd before the match gets under way.

You'd struggle to meet a nicer guy than the one who runs the family key cutting shop in Sidcup. Used them for various things over the years, always a great service.13

People like this astound me. I fear my reaction if that happened to one of my children.
Football fans should storm The White House, capture the FIFA Peace Prize and give it to her above.12 -

Yeh, I always have huge admiration for parents that have suffered like this and then dedicate their lives to establishing something positive from it. Mina Smallman is another like that. I don’t know how they do it.jimmymelrose said:People like this astound me. I fear my reaction if that happened to one of my children.

A good mate and his pals at Sidcup rugby club did some incredible sponsored bike rides in his name and it’s great that we can support this sort of thing - ultimately some things are far more important than a game of football5
