You have to hope that this result is ultimately a positive thing for our plans in the transfer market. Edwards' setback is problematic as we need another LWB as well as a LCB, a central midfielder and ideally a pacy alternative to TC. I'm concerned that it seems pace hasn't really ever been on our radar this January but we really need a mobile central midfielder to make a difference and maybe getting rolled over so easily today will spark the ownership into feeling that money spent now is less than the cost of relegation. We definitely need something to provide a bit of change about the squad, someone who can put a bit of excitement int there and gee up the other players
Yes I am aware he's not the real one, but since we seem to be shopping in the Bargain Basement.

We need a decent winger as I expect we will go 442 next week Apter on one side … look at Azeez today a winger that took players on and delivered a dangerous cross everytime .. and we had Campbell could not deliver a letter …. Good to hear Jones say he been to loyal to some .. hopefully we will see that next week
    Bore off Col
I don’t actually think he’s saying anything wrong here though. If this was anyone else you would have ignored it
But we won't play with two wingers, maybe one and a midfielder that can wide on the other flank.  Like Powell or Curbs in the Premier League.

But the original post is just his way to have a dig at TC, even though today he was our only attacking outlet.
He's usually our only attacking outlet.

So maybe a 2 in 2 out week? I'd love it to be more like 3/4 in but I feel like that's perhaps stretching it wanting 2 CMs an LWB and an LCB in.

Tanto out on loan and possibly AMB???
I think Doc, Tanto, AMB and maybe one like Anderson/Apter will depart. I also think Rousillion and Hernandez will leave.

I think we’ll bring in Bree, a LCB and a couple of midfielders (one attacking and one defensive)

Massive window for the club as I feel relegation could see us drifting away like the last time we dropped from the Champ.
Can't see Bree coming in & I cant see any money being spent......unless we sell a player to "balance the books".  Sorry to say the writing has been on the wall since the summer. Limited budget with the ethos that if we get relegated then so be it & we come back stronger next season. Rodwell said as much in  the week.

Anyone serious about staying up would have brought in a LWB as soon as they could & not left it 3 weeks before bringing in someone only fit enough to play 45 mins.

Our midfield is too soft. Would rather sign some physicality in there than a playmaker. Don’t think Costello won a 50:50 all game today, that’s why he’s not been playing
We need to improve on the ball too, we need more than a better version of Anderson.
One of those players can be Coventry in the short to medium term - we need someone who can compliment him, good with their positioning and can pick a pass up the field to relieve some pressure.
That Dobson lad at Wrexham looks ok

Anyone think NJ’s comment saying ‘certain things have crept in, which the transfer window does’ means that certain players have been unsettled by offers from elsewhere?

Coventry is fine but he was never an upgrade on Dobson.

I can visualise TC leaving, going to a more attacking team who play with proper wingers and become the best winger in the league. Can just see it 😂

We’re genuinely messing TC’s development with our continued need to deploy him at LWB. He looks thoroughly miserable at the moment and I’ve got a good bit of sympathy for him.
Can't help when he reads Ronnie Moore's posts either.

Wonder if with Knibbs out for the rest of the season and not wanting to rely too much on Fullah if another attacking midfielder might be on the cards along with more of an "8" type.

I know NJ loves Berry but he's at the stage where it's 15-20 mins off the bench.
It's surely more likely to be in the engine room.

In his interview with Carley/Mendez, NJ didn't think any of his central midfielders were playing well at the moment, and demanding to be picked.
Doesn't help if one of them (JRC) sat on the bench for 4 months then came into the side & played well. Then after a couple of matches he was dropped to the bench again. Same with Berry......didnt play for months & then was a starter for a few matches. Now we see it with Anderson.

NJ doesn't know his best 11. Jeez.....he doesn't even know his best 18.
Do we have a best 11?

Maybe not the best winger in the league but he will absolutely be a good championship winger in a different set up.

After their performances the last couple months or so I doubt they will be worrying about offers

    Better clubs want our players?

It says something that the only player we know has PL interest is a young striker on loan in L2.

If we go down, next season a rejuvenated Wednesday could do a Birmingham and spend a shed load of cash.
    Leaving just one automatic spot.
  • I think today’s performance along with our recent form and slide will be or at least should be ringing alarm bells. I think Jones is under a lot of pressure now. Perhaps not from the owners at this point But from himself. He must know that things are going tits up at a rapid rate and it looks to me as if he doesn’t know how to stop it getting worse. Certainly today would imply that to me. If I was Jones I’d be on the phone to The USA tonight with a begging bowl. Unless we get some quality in this week, we could well be screwed. What a waste of last seasons efforts that would be.

Rumor from the other forum that Ramsay had links to Boro earlier in the transfer window but didn’t hear anything after that. Also rumor that he asked for a premier league clause in his new contract if he is to re sign and was telling fans this was his last year. His head has definitely gone.

A young striker who scored again today.
    His value keeps going up.

I think we could see him leave and Bree come in this window, if the right offer comes in.

But that has no impact on how the first team are playing, as he isn't with us at the moment.

You’re probably right just figured they were ITK as they also mentioned the liverpool lwb links first.

Can’t see him going this window but in the summer definitely. He’s hungry for a big move which doesn’t make sense because he isn’t playing like he is currently.

Come on …. We are in silly season now Coventry is leagues better than Dobson … and has been since the day we signed him … Coventry was the only player we had any enquiry about in the summer …

Load of tosh at the moment Ramsey performances are not championship level let alone premiership… he not been the same player since he cost us the win over Millwall … no one will be watching him at present .

I don't recall implying that his performances for Colchester have anything to do with our current first team's appalling efforts today.
But thanks for clearing that up anyways 👍👍

Ramsay not a prem player. Got bullied by Josh Coburn today, god knows what prem standard strikers will do to him. Ramsay will go to Preston and he will have to learn to like it there.

In times like this I wish the mods would grow a pair of bollocks, realise you contribute nothing but absolute contrary tosh trying to wind everyone up, and ban you and any future accounts you make
