This .. but just on the strength of 45 minutes while he tried to get acquainted with the team, I could see there is a very good player in there .. BUT, as said if he doesn't get properly fit, he'll be a much use to us as a chocolate tea potSouthbank said:
He is half fit. We do not have the luxury of getting him fit. Our left side of defence has been broken for three months. He won't help much if he can't play game in and game out.Scoham said:
We need more signings, but it’s far too early to write off Chambers.Southbank said:None of the players people on here are mentioning or the positions they might feel will mean anything if we cannot fix the left side of our defence. Our midfield and even attackers are forced back to cover that weakness. If we do not categorically solve this problem this week I will lose all confidence in the owners
PS
Chambers is not the solution2 -
A very small part of me thought we might get a morale boosting signing in today.
On reflection, it was the same part of me that thought we could nick a result against Millwall.23 -
Would be some spin to say that Olaofe couldn't settle in the area he lived his whole life until 2 years agoSword65pf said:In truth if any of those two end up going back the people bringing them in will look like complete amateurs. Probably get some spin about not settling in the area rather than the real reasons. Don’t think we will ever know what’s gone on, but some honesty from the club would be refreshing. The way things are looking we’re going to get more bullshit by the end of the week.16 -
With Cookie Monster leaving today and possibly AMB, Arter and Tanto going out on loan.
You would hope that means a few are incoming. 🤞3 -
Alan Nixon says Wrexham want to buy Southampton’s Adam Armstrong for £15 million.9

Yes that’s what I was thinking.YannTheMann said:

Would be surprised if Saints even replied to the email for that.Callumcafc said:Alan Nixon says Wrexham want to buy Southampton’s Adam Armstrong for £15 million.4 -

Cookie Monster, as in Roussillon? And what the hell is going on with Apter?CaptainRobbo said:With Cookie Monster leaving today and possibly AMB, Arter and Tanto going out on loan.

Actually, what the hell is going on, period?!5 -
If we can get £5 million from Brighton for Mbick then loan JRS from Palarse with a view to buying him for £8 million if we stay up…..14
-
I think once AMB goes out on loan then our Loan XI could comfortably beat our first team, even if there is not quite 11 in the loan XI….9
-
If JRS is that good it’s odd that he ended up in Turkey and every window it seems Palace have a crazy valuation that no one wants to meet, and then it seems to takes ages to shift him on loan. Almost like we’ve only really seen him in League One

They've just sold a 10% stake in club for £47m. Unbelievable what a tin pot Welsh club are worth. Wonder what a 10% stake in Charlton is currently.Callumcafc said:Alan Nixon says Wrexham want to buy Southampton’s Adam Armstrong for £15 million.3 -

I mean their shirt sponsors is United Airlines. I don't even know if United Airlines flies to the UK! (Edit: They do)
I'm genuinely surprised that club hasn't outgrown Parky but hey I guess what do I know?2 -
So basically loan JRS and send him back at the end of the season thenct_addick said:If we can get £5 million from Brighton for Mbick then loan JRS from Palarse with a view to buying him for £8 million if we stay up…..5 -
When Parky keeps getting them promoted every season, why change things?SDAddick said:

At least wait until they get to the Prem before becoming Wayne Rooney's Wrexham.2 -
So, Hernandez reportedly back in training, played a part of his career at wing back. Amari Bell, nearing fitness, even though in all likelihood he will manage only 50% of the remaining fixtures. We have brought in a talented youngster and we have Gillie. I believe if Hernandez remains here then our hopes of bringing in a quality left sided defender are probably not going to be met.4

Has Hernandez played LWB before joining us? I didn't think so, I thought he was primarily a LW/Forward, but maybe I missed something.Bailey said:So, Hernandez reportedly back in training, played a part of his career at wing back. Either way, he should be at BEST our third choice LWB after Chambers and another new signing.5 -

Joking aside, at least Hernandez is left footed which gives him an advantage over 70% of the players tried there so far.SDAddick said:

Obviously we need some really good recruitment, but what concerns me more is a lot of sides around us are finding a bit of fight, where we seem to be just fighting each other, we looked so together but now look like strangers.6

Played for Birmingham whilst on loan, in that position according to Wiki.SDAddick said:

I must admit along with being frustrated I’m really confused by this window. Before it started NJ was on record as saying they had players identified and expected to move early this obviously hasn’t happened do you think we set our sights too high in terms of players who then rejected us ? Not knocking the player but to be told that signing a young player who hasn’t played for months was always our No 1 target is total bollox either that or extremely worrying. Less than a week to go with so much business required to stand a chance of staying up is a massive task and I suspect all we will sign is past it players or young prem prospects who nobody really knows if they can play championship football6
-
It probably should be also noted that we brought Roussillon in when Hernandez got injured, so I would conclude, rightly or wrongly, that the intention is that we don’t, for this window at least, bring anyone else in for that position, assuming we could.Bailey said:

Suppose for all that sleeping at the training ground Jones is doing, he should probably wake up and do some work to bring in some signings that will actually make a difference for the rest of the season.AndyG said:I must admit along with being frustrated I’m really confused by this window.
