Is Peter O'Rourke the one that gets most things wrong or is the one in the know?
    He’s usually pretty accurate

Coady has played more games in the Premier League than any other division, has played centre back and defensive midfield in his time, has 10 England caps.

But because he's played 5 games for Wrexham and they think "his legs have gone" people are saying he's worse than Gillesphey.

You lot are utterly bizarre sometimes
I hope it is an over reaction but Don't you think someone of that calibre & former level would have held down a position at Wrexham other than 5 games if he was ok.

    He’s ok.
I think the useless one you’re thinking of is Alan Nixon.

Coady'd do for me .. seems our finances don't allow for us to go after the cream of the crop or even the skimmed milk, soooo, an experienced pro like Coady could be a decent short term newcomer, IF we get him .. also we need to up our Scouser count !

We’re signing the only bloody CB in the league slower than Gillesphey.

Our back line must now be up there with the slowest in the league. Ramsay is quick enough but appears to have forgotten how to play football.

I really think we needed to inject some pace this window.

Wouldn’t be shocked if we were selling LJ tbh.

May as well accept League One if that happened.  Would be awful business in respect of fans/ management also.

Coady will be delighted though, nice and close to the BBC for all his 5 Live appearances
Aren't almost all of BBCs operations out of Salford now?
95% of staff now at BBC Sport Wales for obvious reasons 🎪

    So we're probably looking at

    AMB, Tanto,Apter out

Coady, NEW CM and maybe a wildcard in?

Coady reeks of a desperation signing to get someone through the door. He was terrible for Wrexham earlier in the season and for those saying he was in the Prem so was Darren Bent but I dont want to re sign him.

As I said yesterday I think we will be signing past it experienced players or unproven youngsters which is pretty depressing and Im normally one of the optimistic people on here.

I honestly think we set our sights too high early in this window and Jones was hoping to talk a few decent players into joining his project and that has failed so we are now scrapping the barrel

If Coady comes in and the club say he was always our top target I GIVE UP !!!!!!

Don't see how this equals Lloyd moving, we need more leadership in the team, especially as Lloyd is the only one in the back 5 with any semblence of that. If we play a 3, Jones, Coady and Ramsay make a good 3 that complements each other.

As for the start of the season, Wrexham full stop were poor, and they've changed the shape and spent big to get them out of it, putting the blame on Coady seems a bit weird.

Maybe the only positive from Saturday is the owners now know they have to act. It’s going to be a busy week hopefully.
  • He’s not good enough for Wrexham (a 3-5-2 side that doesn’t like the ball and lives off counters) but maybe he’d suit us (a 3-5-2 side that doesn’t like the ball and lives off counters).
  • The NTT20 boys were very scathing of Coady's start to the season in Wrexham's back three. This one feels like we are solving a problem of having no pace in our back three but signing a player with no pace who can't play in a back 3. Excellent!

One thought on our need for a quality CM. Joe Rothwell is available for loan from Rangers. Proven Championship player who can do a bit of everything and would be a genuine upgrade on what we have. Just a suggestion.

Peter O’Rouke is pretty much on the money every time
  • Don’t worry about Lloyd. It’s not long term. Suspect Leicester could be one he misses. Then ready for 3 big home games if all goes to plan.

Conor Coady set to join #CAFC from #Wrexham on loan.

  • More of a character signing, and we do need leaders. Take LJ out and the backline is very quiet. In fact squad wise, aside from Docherty who now seems surplus to requirements, there is a worrying lack of attitude. So yes short term well worth a risk, and does pop up with set piece goals. Not every defender is going to be rapid, and having played a long career in the prem, i reckon he may have some idea of how to adapt his game.

What an inane post. We are very likely to go down unless we sign some decent players - Coady is shit so obviously people aren’t going to be thrilled about him joining.
  • Some glowing reports from Wrexham fans:

'Great leader yes, but way to slow for the Championship.'
'Has to go down as the worst decision Parky’s made in five years. Once you factor in the wages, it’s not even a discussion.'
'Spends more time on Sky Sports then he does on the pitch, won’t be missed.'
'Class fella but his legs have absolutely gone now.'

Bloody right not that one!!  Just take anyone shall we?

I reckon he comes in as our highest earner?

Helping Wrexham out by taking him off the books for them.

But hey, it's a player we've all heard of and he used to be good and saves the faff of trying to find someone good.

Coady is only going to be played in the middle of the back 3. It’s where he’s played for anyone else and with his lack of pace you don’t want him on the sides so this isn’t a Gillesphey replacement

If this is a signing that is just Coady sitting on the bench to cover Jones, might come on to see a game out as an extra defensive body, but will be a great presence off the pitch then I think that’s fine

Coady was picked for England squads for years purely because of how good he is off the field. On the field he showed at Wrexham that he’s not good enough anymore at this level

If the plan is to sign Coady and he’s going to play regularly then that is a terrible decision

Personally think Coady is a sensible signing.   Squad needs a lift & he is a leader

Think he's exactly the kind of character we need in a relegation battle
Good leaders still need to prove they can still do the business, last payday vibes with this one.
