Winter-January 2026 Transfer Window Rumours ...

  • Depends on what else comes in basically. If this is in addition to the signings we are crying out for ie defensive LWB, LCB and a CM, then I like it a lot. Give Jones some rest, add some experience and structure to the defense.

If this is meant to be the answer to our defensive problems then we are in serious trouble.

Wait and see for me. Wrexham fans might be right. But Luton fans said Bell wasn’t any good anymore either.

He might be slow like Gillesphey but at least he won’t (shouldn’t) pass the ball directly to the opposition and put us under pressure multiple times a game…

Late and still catching up but have to jump in on the Conor Coady rumour.

He's absolutely atrocious now, Leicester fans couldnt believe Wrexham bought him, and Wrexham now know why Leicester fans were queueing up to drive him to Wales.
  • I don't mind him signing to be a leader and emergency cover should several CB's get injured at the same time, but if he's here to improve our defense, I'm suddenly very worried about our ability to bring in good players this week.
If Bell is back soon, then a back 3 of him, Jones and Coady surely has to be an improvement on recent games?
There is more pace and movement in a geriatric home than that back 3.

I get Coady had England caps and prem appearances, but the last England appearance was 4 years ago. Need I point out its been less time than that since Rousillon was in the Bundesliga?

I understand wanting signings, and he may add character, but we have a defence repeatedly exposed by anyone with pace or direct attacking quality - Coady makes this worse not better. I seriously implore you to watch the Wrexham highlights when he was in their team, particularly against QPR.

That problem is caused by a midfield that doesn't seem able to track a runner

Personally I will not be happy with this window if a proper CM is not brought into the building. I know our defense has been shaky but our midfield puts our backline under enormous pressure constantly. That is the real issue.

So Nathan other than the left side issue what are we really missing in the squad?

well Jim could really do with someone dynamic and more importantly pace,

ok Nathan what about Conor coady?……….

“This is why we won’t stay up , a steady experienced defender whose been there and done it and this level , sides like Charlton willing to pay to get him , we just go for gambles or penny pinch and miss out! Everything happens for a reason , don’t forget that #Rovers”

We can't bring in loans just because they're a 'good character.'
Yeah but he did play a few games for England 5 years ago, it’s not like footballers regress as they get older

Yeah this seems to be the prevailing narrative I'm seeing from Blackburn fans , there's a lot of them that are convinced they're gone.

Another loan signing from a fellow championship side of a player that isn't good enough for his parent club, Driesen signed better players than this for fuck sake

Wrexham fans saying legs have completely gone. Arter 2.0?
Minted but shopping in the bargain bin again.

He'll score a 91st minute winner against his old club on Saturday with a towering header from a Bree corner!
  • 'Has to go down as the worst decision Parky’s made in five years. Once you factor in the wages, it’s not even a discussion.'

I reckon he comes in as our highest earner?

Helping Wrexham out by taking him off the books for them.

But hey, it's a player we've all heard of and he used to be good and saves the faff of trying to find someone good.
There's absolutely no way we are paying all of his wages nor is he becoming our highest earner
    I enjoy your optimism.

Like I said a couple of posts up, I’m wait and see. My initial reaction is he’s probably not what we need but I understand the leadership argument too.

The only place he really fits in the team is central of the 3. I think Lloyd may have played some LCB for Cambridge in the past? Maybe that’s the idea?

After not playing for some time, maybe his legs have un-gone!

I reckon he's fit and raring to go, got the highest bleep test, could still prove himself and make the WC squad, etc 😉

If Wrexham just need to get players out because they have reached their squad limit, then removing Coady from their wage bill won't be a major concern, so I imagine we won't be paying a high percentage of his wages.

Even if he needs a zimmer frame to get around the pitch he can't be any worse than the 40 minute disasterclass that Burke put on on Saturday

Forgive me if I’m completely off with this, but would Coady be a more or less expensive deal overall than Rak Sakyi? Whether we agree with the signing or not, Coady doesn’t strike me as a particularly cheap deal on the wage front.

Coady is a good signing if he's acting as cover for L Jones.

Coady is a very bad signing if he's meant to replace Ramsay or Gillesphey.

We are still in desperate need of a left sided CB who can actually run at a decent pace.

Playing Coady as a wide center back is not a good idea, he'd be the slowest player in the squad. Based purely on this seasons form, he's not an upgrade on any of our defenders (not including Gillesphey, Coady won't go near LCB). Ramsay might be out of form but people have short memories, he's a good Championship player. Burke, when fit, is a good Championship player.

If he's in addition to a LCB, LWB, Midfielder - then I'm very happy with this signing, great experience to have in the dressing room. If he's our number one target, ouch.
