Help shape future matchdays at The Valley Survey
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. Just had a season ticket holders survey drop in my inbox. From a few of the questions asked re opinions on seat moving , are the club thinking of moving away fans to a home area I wonder ? I know it's been rumoured before ?
I am all for improving our experience matchday and dutifully answered. I am Lower CE so don't think seat moving would impact me if they are looking at areas …..

Oh no! I think there are several ones to click but once done it doesn't work again ?Jon_CAFC_ said:My link is broken0 -
They won’t be moving away fans in the Championship, they said that in the Q&A the other week. There was a comment about maybe moving the Family Area and was a comment about not selling season tickets in certain areas to increase match day demand. What that means I don’t know.charlton4ever said:Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. Just had a season ticket holders survey drop in my inbox. Just done it on my phone. Found a lot of it unintelligible and ended up jabbing randomly.2

Completed but not a great fan of the questions.
I am a season ticket holder because I support Charlton and always have done. But it's not because they are my "local" team. They were when I started but, after 59 years, they aren't anymore.
Nothing will make me move from my seat, as I like the people around me, so my answers to the various match price options were irrelevant. A better question would be what do I think of the various options.
No question asking me what I think of the current loyalty scheme. Make it cover 3 or 4 years, not just 2 is the answer.1 -
I've done it. Too long and way too confusing - especiallyt the questions about where you'd choose to sit and varying prices - I wonder if they tested it out with a test audience as it's really not clear.7
-
I started but got to 56% of the survey and gave up.lots of impossible to understand stupid questions.2

Believe it's as much about a Membership scheme as seating issues...
It seems from rumours flying around that the Board wants us to use similar "rules" as Prem clubs that have been investigated.
Wouldn't it be more sensible to walk before we can run ?7 -
Likewise, I gave up with it. I glanced at the very long Privacy Policy and clicked to say I'd read it whilst thinking, no-one's going to read all that. I got to question two and there wasn't an option for my circumstance. At that point I thought, I don't want to be shoehorned according to my closest guess by someone who can't possibly understand my circumstances because they've asked the wrong questions in the first place.
If The Trust or Fans Rep read this thread and will be discussing this with the club, my main thoughts are as follows:- At the start of the season I thought season ticket prices represented good value, now I don't.
- I'll probably renew, because it's what I do.
- I don't take neutral friends to The Valley anymore because I don't want to put them through it. It's bad enough that I have to watch what passes for football down there without making anyone else suffer.

Thanks, Stig.I’ve just struggled my way through the survey. As someone with a little bit of professional experience in this area, I always strongly advise against any kind of hypothetical price research - actual past behaviour and judgment is your only guide on this. Ask about value for money rather than what one might be prepared to pay - people will not answer that accurately. The pricing bit is also way too complex - not sure I even filled it in correctly.Surveys should be used to steer and guide, not to provide concrete answers. They have used a professional agency, which is good in principle, though looks like a marketing agency rather than a research specialist from that privacy policy! I hope they are strong on data analysis and interpretation.Whether the proof is in the pudding or in the eating of it, let’s see.2

Isn’t this the stuff for the Fan Advocates / Advisory Board / Task and Complete Groups ??4

I gave up on tbe price comparison bit or whatever it was I didn't understand what they wanted me to do.5

what a rubbish survey, not sure what they can take from my answers im confused myself1
-
I haven’t even received the survey yet.0
-
Found the survey quite easy to navigate and answer myself, but as usual a survey with a limited range of answers most times.0
-
I received it despite not being a season ticket holder, went into my junk mail thoughLargeAddick said:I haven’t even received the survey yet.0 -

Easy enough to do, but the questions seem designed to give them the excuse to move people from their current season ticket seats0
-
Think they've just randomly picked people.off of the database, Mrs got the email but has never had a ST at all.1

Didn't get a hint about moving away fans from any of those questions could see them limiting ST availability in the Cupboard end though to increase walk ups. Completely unnecessary if we get relegated though.1
-
Some interesting things in there, the ticket thing was a bit null and void as I'm in the Covered End Lower so every time I picked where I would sit it was essentially the same thing, give or take a pound.
Not that difficult to navigate really, just a bit long winded, the rank the options for the Valley Gold membership in particular was annoyingly long0 -
I haven’t had a season ticket since before COVID and have been sent the survey. As soon as it started asking questions about renewing said season ticket I gave up.
Absolutely awful survey.0 -
If we get relegated only a price cut will tempt many. Season ticket sakes will revert to the core support very quickly.Don’t forget last years price hike is what we assume is the start point for all.3
-
None of the 4 links to the survey in the email work for me.0
-
Haven't received anything. Doesn't sound like I've missed out on much0
-
It’s worth completing the survey as the incentive is to win a chance to play left back for Charlton this Saturday.8
-
Most season ticket holders are in the CE so I’m assuming they’d be looking to move most people into there? I waited a couple of years for the specific seat I wanted so won’t be best pleased if I get turfed out!0
-
Yep...it had me fucked. Gave up before I did some real damage to the findings!
As Al Murray used to say on Harry Hill's programme..."If it's too hard, I can't understand it..."1 -
All seemed very pointless. Aimed at season ticket holders and a 13 part question on what would impact / encourage you to attend more games.
I get what they were trying to do with the pricing options Q but it was very clumsy. I suspect most people don’t know how to answer or just select their current ST block.
Disappointed there was no other comments ability at the end.3
