@mart77 is someone I definitely wouldn’t dismiss anything he shares.

Some of you are just f***ing rude to be honest.

It’s a rumours thread, to discuss rumours.

Wouldn’t be surprised if teams were interested in Lloyd Jones. He’s easily a Championship CB and comfortably our best player this year. He sounded incredibly fed up after the Millwall game. Suicidal to sell him. Season ending.

AMB will be coming off that list and I suspect Knibbs will too once they know the full extent of his injury.

I've had a quick look and we have all 25 registration spots currently allocated.

That reduces down to 24 if Edwards is de-registered.

Means we will need to move on players to bring in anyone else, even loans (Chambers is u21 but still takes up a space as on loan).

Explains why we're seeing rumours of players being loaned out as we need new signings to come in.

We could also potentially de-register Knibbs.

Quite excited by Cawleys post could be an exciting couple of days
    Lots going on.

    Apter out on loan
    Tanto out on loan
    Doc out perm
    Ramsey sold
    Mbick sold

    Coady in
    New academy bloke in

    That would be a lot.

    🤣
That is just what we need - any spare Luton leftovers for us to buy?

If Apter or Jones goes ( I don’t believe for one minute the latter will happen) then Nathan might as well get in the Taxi with them because fans won’t tolerate that for a second.
Maybe its not NJs call to sell any player ?

Is commander Cody signing for us, or is he more like one of the Lost Planet Airmen ?

Very likely, more of  money man's call .. but if Apter and Tanto go, even on loan, it indicates how much money was wasted over the summer transfer window

If Jones goes then it should be Nathan, not Lloyd.
It normally is the manager that walks, but this is Charlton Athletic.
Jones will not walk, on a nice long contract and no other club would entertain him.  The summer window was full of signing league one players which is where they will be playing next season.

    Excellent.
And we have the manager to get us up again.

Corey-Blackett-Taylor (CBT) has gone on loan from Derby to Bolton, makes Apter going there unlikely ?

This picture is the sort of thing that a millwall supporter composes.  I've had pics passed on to me on WhatsApp that are obviously pictures doctored by AI that have come from millwall somewhere .

Notice the tone of the text below it.
Well spotted, CombeMartin. At least one reader here was not fooled by it. The rest of us were completely fooled. Have you ever considered a career in the security services?

I have been following the discussion regarding current situation and found the insights shared here quite valuable. However, I would like to chime in with some thoughts of my own:

    1.  Splashing out money doesn’t always guarantee success.
    2.  In all honesty, what did the majority of supporters realistically expect for our league finish this season?
    3.  There is a huge gulf in class between League 1 and the Championship.
    4.  Historically, many clubs do not survive their first season back in the Championship. While Pompey and Oxford bucked that trend last season, we can see where they are now.
    5.  My own expectations were centered on survival. I am still hopeful we will achieve this, perhaps aided by Sheffield Wednesday’s current predicament.

Of course, the defeat against our local adversaries was tough to take, especially as it seemed to lack compassion, guile, and commitment. However, where there is life there is hope; we are not dead and buried just yet.

I cannot follow your logic. We already know that money was wasted. Their going or staying does not alter that either way.

Not true recently. Only 1 of the last 12 promoted sides have gone straight back down. The same amount that have been promoted straight through to the Premier League.

Tanto maybe but Apter we don't know about. With regular game time he has the chance to work on the things NJ doesn't like about him. There's also always the chance we change manager within the next 18 months and Apter is back in the fold. His issue has never been talent but about fitting in an NJ team.

So I wonder if NJ/ The club will come out and say they ballsed it up in the summer if they do loan out Apter and Tanto?

I think we can stop worrying about it until 1. an actual club is named as being interested 2. it comes from someone like Rich Cawley

Agree that Jones should and would consider walking if his best players were sold from under him. I don’t expect that to happen.

We just rejected millions from Brighton for Mbick so we’re clearly not desperate for cash.

No other clubs around us are selling their best players in January so why would we? It all makes no logical sense.

There are many things in life that make no logical sense.

The way Charlton has been run for most of the last 20 years is one of them.
